I kinda like the puffed sleeve cap, but it is a bit more pronounced in a pleather than it would be in a softer fabric. The jacket has that ruched thing happening in the center front, so I think they were going for a Victorian touch crossed with leather. Only you can say if that style works for you or not - if not, take it back!

Thanks for your replies. Honestly, I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet -- it was $39, so not a big investment, and I think I've tried on every pleather jacket in 50 miles that was in my budget. This is the only one that's come home with me. I guess I'll sleep on it, and try it with a few looks. I'm glad that you are all seeing what I'm seeing, though--it makes me trust myself a bit more.

I like everything but the shoulders. They seem a bit junior's department / mixing unexpected elements in a jarring vs trendy way.

For a leather jacket, it should be perfect . . . For most pieces it should be perfect, but especially a jacket which is such a big investment.

Perhaps as Cinnamon said and you could try another from the same brand?

Puffed shoulders on a leather jacket just seems weird to me - competing style elements, and not in a good way. It's too bad, because the jacket fits you really well and the color is great. Could you try another in that brand?

I think it comes down to how you feel about those shoulders. It looks as if it could work well with dresses, but if that style detail bothers you, then it could be a deal-breaker. Frustrating...I know....

I like the shoulders! It gives it structure and it could give your whole outfit a different, more structured look too. Depends what you plan to wear it with, but it could lift casuals.

I think they are supposed to be like that... but I still think I vote to keep looking. If you don't like that style, you deserve something you love. And for some reason the puff shoulder look makes me think of junior's styles.

I actually like the peaks on you-- from the front but not the back. I suppose it depends on how your arms are positioned too.

First, please excuse the workout wear; I am literally just back from the gym but too eager for your opinions to wait.

I love everything about this jacket except for the excess fabric "peaks" at the shoulders. It is definitely a design element and not a flaw. I love the waist shaping, and the fact that the black seems "softer" than other jackets I've tried. But I don't really trust my sense on this, do please be honest.

Thanks.
