I think a thicker white jean is better than a lighter-weight one. To me, white jeans are like tan wool trousers. You really need to invest a lot of time trying on. The best of them make you look fabulous; the worst somehow create problems you don't have. </p> <p>BTW, I happened to be at the Levis store trying on their jeans last night. I have muffin top issues with most jeans and thought that the slight curve was really a good fit. I'm usually between one of two sizes, and I had to go up to the upper of my two normal sizes, if that helps. I also found that their modern cut in the slight curve was way low for me. I had to order off of the website for the mid rise. Another thing I found was that when they say skinny, they really mean skinny. For me, that meant that the bottoms of their skinny jeans were super snug on my calves. The straight cut was just enough to skim over my calves. I generally prefer white jeans to fit more like straight legs, vs. leans or tight skinnies. Somehow the skintight look just doesn't translate as well, IMHO, with white or lighter jeans, vs. dark or black ones.</p> <p>Some nice examples, to my eye, below. The straight leg Levi's in Angie's blog post seem to fit similarly: Slim through the hips and thighs, but a bit of room so there isn't all of the wrinkling, creasing, etc. at the crotch and through the thighs, then straight through the calves. I have the Diana's , but like all my skinnies and jeggings, I go a size up and take in the waist. They just fit me better that way. That would be an issue to me.</p> <p>The J Brand is entirely too clingy, and there is little point in jeans that need shapewear to disguise your shape under them! Go with those ONLY if you plan to cover up to the crotch in longer tops or tunics!</p> <p>My argument against the CoH, whose colour I like best, is that the pockets seem to be sitting too low for you. A little higher or a little smaller and they'd have been good! I'd have suggested moving the pockets up if there was space, but the back yoke is sitting too close to the top of the pockets anyway.
