Interesting! :) I find the pink shirt so lovely on you. I would have to say colour is your friend :) The other shirt and the sweater of lovely but I just feel the tones are as flattering. Please don't be offended as I know you have had your colours done recently and that has been a real positive for you. I just don't see the more neutral tones flattering your skin tone like the pink seems to?

Oh, love the pants and I love skinny and streamlined they look on you :)

I think you're right about the pink. When you find the right one, it will mix in with your wardrobe better but still give you the fresh colorful look that is working.

I like the plaid pants despite the skinny fit. I don't have anything like them. The zippers make them interesting. The fit is really quite amazing, they are like a second skin!! I will keep checking with Nordstrom to see if they get one back in a larger size. So far they haven't.

The pink top is really bright. That effect has nothing to do with my walls I think I will keep my eye out for another one that is similar but softer. I like the idea of having a pink blouse. I have several outfit ideas planned for one.

I have the same plaid pants. I had some misgivings when I first purchased then but ultimately am glad I did. They are a very skinny fit, but they do stretch. I am neither as tall nor as slender as you, so I generally wear mine with something longer over (jacket, long sweater.)

Nordstrom recently got in some Kut from the Kloth pants with a similar look if you wanted to compare something that is less glove like.

I'm not wild about the J Crew pants but like the white ones.

I think the pink top is a little too bright.

And the observation about the wall is good. I'm always taking pictures with my coral red drapes in the background and I have noticed it can skew the look of the colors I'm wearing (and make my face look too pink).

Suz, that's a good way to assess the color. I'm fairly certain its a cool pink. The color name is "Strawberry". When it is next to my old coral pink items it makes them look very orange. It doesn't clash with the berry melange sweater, but it doesn't look good either because it is too bright. I think the biggest issue with this pink is its brightness. I am supposed to find light, cool and soft colors and this is light, cool and bright.

I think Marley is right -- the green walls may be skewing the colours a bit, making the grey look more "green grey" (not good for summer) vs. a cool blue grey. Assuming the sweater is actually more of a cool grey, it is beautiful and sophisticated and I love it.

Not sure about the grey top for the reason of the walls -- greys can be tricky. As someone who is also cool toned, I always always pick a "blue" grey vs. a "green" grey.

The pink initially looked a bit warm toned and bright to me, but again, my perception may be skewed by lighting. Again, myself I aim for very cool toned pinks and berries. How does this blouse look with the berry melange sweater? I know they won't match, and that is totally okay. If they don't clash, then it is probably a good choice. If they do clash or if the blouse looks markedly "salmon" pink next to the sweater, then you should pass on it -- too warm toned.

Yes Unfrumped! I should be paying more attention to my wardrobe plan and the silhouettes that I have found that work well for me. I have been so excited about my new colors that I am trying to populate my closet with enough items so I can get by for at least two weeks without having to duplicate an outfit. I'm almost there. I am not entirely sure which silhouettes work best for me. I do have some favorites though. I know that knee length pencil skirts work when paired with sweaters, fluid blouses, button downs, cardigans. This is really a good look for me. I can pull them off and IMO they are flattering and comfortable. Straight leg pants/jeans is another look that I truly like as long as the leg of the pant doesn't get too wide. For tops I can do almost anything with a straight leg pant. Skinny jeans are ok with tunic tops, short dresses, and high low hem tops. I am less fond of this look, but I think I can pull it off. I love sheath dresses, but they need to be fitted, body con style dresses with a pencil skirt. Otherwise I get lost in the fabric. I also like fit and flare dresses, but not too much flare. Is that enough for silhouettes? Too limiting?

I am going to go through my new items and see what outfits I can make keeping my silhouettes in mind.

The skinnier pants seem to work best with the top worn longer and more fluid. I like the pink color, but it's a lot of it.
I'm not the poster child for wardrobe planning, but you might want to think about " form" first and then color. What are the silhouettes and proportions - say 3-5 " uniforms" that work for your body type plus are updated, and then how to get those in colors you like. It sounds like you are having fun and success with your new color palette. Within that though you may want to see which color palette items play best with each other and make useful capsules. You mentioned trying your tops with skirts- that is along those lines. Not wearing only skirts, but planning out your top/bottom styles.

Marley, the Paige denim jeans are sold out in the next size up. Two sizes larger will be too big for sure. They stretch as I wear them so I'm ok with the way these fit. I was aware the grey Bristol trousers were too short. I already have a pair in a tall size. They need to be hemmed but there is an improvement in length. I really do think the green walls are skewing the Grays! I need to redecorate using my summer colors! (That's for another blog!!). I'm glad you like the pink blouse. It seemed a bit bold when I first put it on but my eye adjusted. I really like the color. I agree with your method of semi-tuck. Works perfectly. I tried it this morning, but no photo. My phone is charging.

I am less sure how to semi tuck a sweater? Should I do the front? The side?

Joy, I'm glad you like the Vince sweater. I really love that one! It is so beautiful in person. I look forward to wearing it.

3) - try semi-tucking that Vince sweater into those pants and put a shoe on with a slight heel and lets see what it looks like! 4) pants look like a good fit, but a tad too short.

Love the Vince sweater. Keep! I like the pants in 3 and 4 better on you than the really skinny ones in 1/2. I'm not sure about the shirts. If you think the color is right, the grey might work out best.

Yes - Yes - Yes to the Paige pants! The zippers and the pattern add some "heft" to your body frame (which is a good thing!) The only thing I might consider is to try one size bigger - just to compare the fit. I tend to like my skinnies to not fit like a glove - but really its personal preference.
I really like the pink shirt - I'd pop the collar in the back, roll up the sleeves a couple of times, and pull out the back hem so you've got yourself a semi-tuck going on with the pants. To me the gray shirt (color) isn't doing you any favors - I kind of feel that way about the geo print sweater as well, but I'm sure that they look better IRL. You know, I think that the green wall that you are standing up against skews the gray to make it look more olive - so that may be the problem in the pics!

Here are some more of my shopping spree possibilities. Paige Denim plaid skinny jeans. I think these are dark, and they fit like a glove. They aren't too tight but they are definitely not loose. No muffin top when I turn around, but you can't see that because it was too hard to photograph.

The Equipment blouse is shown in two colors. The pink is definitely in my palate, but it is one of the darkest colors and may not be my best choice. The color may be better for accessories instead? The grey is also on the dark side, but it will layer nice with other items. The pink may also layer nicely.
The Vince sweater was just hard to photograph. It has a fabulous graphic pattern on the front and back that is hard to see in my pics. I switched up the pants to see if that made any difference in bringing out the pattern in the pics. It's much easier to see in person. What do you think? Oh, I think the gray pants are J Crew Bristol Pants. is it my eye, or do all the non skinny pants look too big and baggy on me. I have such a hard time finding pants that fit!! I keep saying that I should commit to wearing skirts only. My next mini fashion project is going to be creating outfits using skirts for each and every one of my tops.

Getting back on track with this post, I am most concerned about the plaid pants??? (The Vince Sweater just went on sale, so I feel better about keeping it).
