Reading Janet's comment on this morning's post has me leaning toward returning this. http://youlookfab.com/2014/04/.....ring-2014/

Considering the whole point of this blouse for me would be to wear it when it is hot out, I very much dislike the fact it is too sheer to be worn without a cami. Plus the comments here on how it won't provide much sun protection due to the sheerness, and I don't think this top will do what I want it to do.

I do like the black dotted stripes though and I'm glad I at least captured a photo of me wearing it!

I like it! I like the strong vertical thing going on as it keeps it from looking blousy and shapeless. Cute!

I agree with Echo that something this sheer will probably not give that much sun protection. I like it tucked, though it looks a bit big to me. With the green tank and the jeans, along with the sheer and the contrast trim, there's a lot going on visually. Layering over a white or black tank might be more pleasing.

I actually really like the #1 look for the occasion you describe. The blouse looks great semi-tucked too.

Keep in mind that if you can see through a fabric, you can easily sunburn through that fabric. Sheer fabrics do next to nothing to protect from the sun, so I wouldn't factor that into your decision. And from my experience, whenever I try to recapture the feeling of a beloved piece from my past, the new attempt just never works out. Neither I nor the item is the same as before, and I rarely reach for the new item.

That said, this blouse actually looks like a very sheer jacket to me. The double piping down the center looks like a zipper to me, and the length reminds me of a light jacket. It isn't bad looking, but it may not be the look you are going for.

I'm not really wearing the boho look at all these days but I picked up this peasant blouse at Loft. Two things attract me to this blouse: 1)It reminds me of a vintage peasant blouse I wore all the time in high school and college and 2) I have a couple outdoor events coming up where I'll be out in the hot sun all day. I sunburn easily and the long sleeves on this should provide a bit of sun protection.

That said, I'm not sure about it. What do you think? Is this a keeper? It is really sheer, so in these photos I layered it over an icy blue/green tank top-- but I would not be limited to wearing it that way.

(Please pardon the funny face. It's hard keeping a steady hand when I'm taking photos with my phone and so it seems I'm so often making a funny face!)
