I most like #2, elegant and slim, perfect for styling up in all sorts of ways! Slim knee high black boots and that black blazer; patterned black tights, black booties, and a cream oversized button down shirt left unbuttoned and knotted at the hipbone, with the sleeves rolled up to just below your elbow (casual but striking); layered over a slim form fitting black or white turtleneck; even worn under a chunky soft sweater or turtleneck so just the skirt shows.....

I've just decided I need this very dress as a staple in my closet! Thanks!

You look elegant in black! I agree with Suz that trying #1 on with your tights would be very helpful. I'd love to see this with patterned tights for the holidays!

#2 would be fabulous with a bold brooch or pendant necklace and pair of retro heels.

I can't see #3 well enough (black is hard to see onscreen) to comment on fit -- what I can see, I like!

The dresses are pretty, but I LOVE the mini. I hope you keep it!

The leather mini is fun but might be pulling a bit? Not sure. You can compare sizes. If you wear this all the time with tights, try also with tights on because in my experience that can affect the fit (in both directions -- sometimes with tights if the waist is loose a skirt in this style might twist around...and sometimes it smooths places where it might seem to pull --- or the reverse.)

The second dress has lots of potential but I would like to see a little heel (not necessarily a high heel).

I think the third one just does not fit right, alas.

I like #3. If it's a bit loose in the torso, could you get it taken in?

I agree --love the leather skirt and #3. Don't love #2, especially given how great you look in the shorter dresses. And pockets-- always a plus!

Wait. You found a leather skirt with POCKETS?. Don't let that one get away.

I like the skirt and the dress in a smaller size. Not feeling the dress in pic 2. I think it is a combination of the length and the higher neckline. More skin showing may offer balance.

In a previous post, I mentioned that Part 2 of my Black Friday stash would arriving...and it did! Except now I'm waiting for Part 3, because the shipments were divided. Anyhow, here are the contenders and some of my comments:

Photo #1: A-line leather mini, a winter staple with black tights. The next shipment contains one size larger but I think this is the right size. It sits on my hip bone. It wouldn't be too short for Paris, but you know, America. Price is on point. Plus, pockets.

Photo #2: Joseph dress. It caught my eye because it struck me as both dressy and casual, as well as comfortable. I wouldn't shorten it and am ok with the length, even though it might look better at my knees.

Photo 3 and 4/5 (size down): A beautiful and fun silk dress, but I'm not sure size either works. The larger feels too big in the torso while the smaller feels like it's bunching in the hip, perhaps cleverly disguised. Pic 5 is just for fun.
