I think the suit is amazing. But don’t like the pocket grinning. Also, cream and cream boots will look better to my eye than the red top and boots for the suit outfit. Or light grey.

I do like the pants and I like them with both blazers. But if they aren't the right fit, you are probably not going to love wearing them. It sounds like you're hesitant.

The blazer will look amazing with red pants, too, or a plaid with the gray and red, or with charcoal.

I don‘t really like wearing the item in only one way.
Katerina - great ideas for styling ideas, will play more over the weekend before making final decision.
My husband told me that I only miss a hat to look like Canadian Ranger, so that image is kind of putting me off too LOL

I love it both as a suit and as separates.
I like the red stripe - it makes it a bit different and also modern. If you feel that it feels costumy - IMHO - I think that the styling with the red sweater and/or boots contribute to that feeling as the whole look then becomes very matchy, kind of like a uniform. Why not trying to reduce the red in other pieces and try with a black or a navy top and footwear and let the stripe to be a little pop of red. You could also try with a patterned top to break up the “uniform” vibe, IYKWIM.
For what it’s worth, I am always very happy if I find matching bottoms to my blazers (if the bottoms fit great) because I love having the option of wearing a suit. To me, it is a value added to the otherwise great separates, even if the suit would not be the main thing. If you need more trousers rebuilding your wardrobe, why not a pair that is great on its own and that will also add value to the wardrobe in having a suit option. BUT that is only if YOU like the trousers and also would wear the suit. How long do you have to consider? Perhaps try more styling options and see how you feel?

I guess I hardly ever post K/R because I mostly buy in B&M stores where it is harder to return so I have to think it all through before purchasing.
Personally I love the suit on you Anchie, but being also really matchy-matchy like you I would also only want to wear it with reds that matched, so that could be limiting. I have a number of items that I only wear one way- or mostly one way- in certain outfits so I try for those to not be too expensive otherwise I may not feel I get my money’s worth. I think you dress more formally ( more “office”) than I do so you may wear it more, wearing as a suit to work. It looks fabulous!

I'm that way about k/r too, Anchie. I hardly ever post them because for me if I have to ask the answer is No. (The exception might be if an item is a new direction for me and I'm not sure if it doesn't work or I'm just not used to it.) But I realize that other forum members are different.

Fwiw, I like the pants on you but if you don't plan to wear it as a suit then it might be worth getting a more versatile pair of gray pants instead. Of course, then you'll need to consider how closely the grays need to match in order for you to feel comfortable.

I think posting a K/R can be tricky, people use it in different ways. For some people, it's an "I'm on the fence" and the feedback is helpful in clarifying that "on the fence" actually means "no." For others though, I think the K/R is when they're trying something new and generally feel good about the item, but still want an unbiased opinion, just in case the desire for "new" has blinded them to something that's truly not flattering. (The latter is how I use it, so for me, merely posting a K/R does not mean that I should automatically return something.) I try to be kind, but honest, on K/Rs and acknowledge that much of how I view an item relates back to my own personal preference for how I'd wear it.

I fully agree with those who commented that suit looks like costume. I also think that styling is too matchy matchy with red shoes and red sweater, but red stripe is somewhat limiting in my mind - I feel like I have to combine it with red but don’t like the effect. I prefer it as separates but if I will not wear it as a suit, I don’t see the point of keeping the pants - I hope to find some that I can wear with this blazer too.

It is usually a bad sign that I needed to post K/R - winners for me are the items that I was sure about and didn’t need advice. How about you?

I think the suit is FAB! The pants are just right and they'll definitely give a bit when you wear them. I'd just take the pockets out. I mean, what are you going to put in there anyway?

The sweater feels a little matchy and conservative for the suit. I'd do a logo t or maybe something a little sexy underneath or at least a more slouchy blouse since the rest of the suit is so fitted...it'll look more modern. And I'd stick to either a red top or red boot. Totally mean this with love! Kind of funny too coming from the queen of matchy, lol!

Is there any stretchy material in the pants? If so then they might loosen up a little to fit the way you'd like. I love Rachylou's suggestion on how to deal with pockets if they bother you. How much seam allowance is there? If there is enough you could consider having a tailor let them out just a bit. I'd want a tailors' advice before committing to that. And I think Torontogirl had it right...wear as a suit now and if you get tired of that wearing it as separates will work perhaps longer. Hugo Boss is so well made they should last a long time, but it's a pricey brand so make sure you really want to keep them.

I like the pieces worn separately, but not as a suit. I think a stripe on either the pants or the jacket is great, but it reads a little costume-y when worn together.

I love the suit. I’d wear it forever. I’d just remove the pockets... actually, that was a rule of my English banker boss: never unstitch the pockets, never actually use them. He was talking jackets, but same difference.

I was really hoping that you'll show us the suit, so thank you!
It looks absolutely amazing to my eye - both the fit and the colors with your complexion and wardrobe. I think the suit is genius - it's classic with impeccable cut but with the right amount of modern and edgy. Love the stripe detail. If I find similar suit in color other than gray or black would snap it without even thinking, I like this stripe detail so much. Also, I think it fits your style perfectly and the trousers do not look snug to me. Showing of pockets could be due to the fabric, not due to size and it's something that never bothers me, it's just pockets. You can wear it as a suit with basically any colored top, gray is the perfect neutral. And as separates it gives you options for you colored/statement pieces - red, blue, yellow.
So I vote keep, keep, keep! And show us how you have worn it, please? :)

I love them! Do you think they might loosen a smidge with wear? The only aspect that gives me pause is the pockets showing through, but you could have them removed. It's a classic style, so I think the stripe can be a "do your own thing" even if the trend passes.

I feel like in the pic#1,2 adding one more color in accessories could make the outfit more fun - like the bag in non matching color ( metallic, black, navy, charcoal ..). Need more pictures of you in your stunning suit! Vote to keep and mix it up.

I bought this Boss blazer in Seattle with Angie‘s help. Matching pants I ordered online and they were waiting for me when I got back home. Should I keep them to make a suit? Do they have a limiting styling options and longevity due to a red stripe? Tried them also with the new velvet blazer.
