I like the marled effect&nbsp;and as you move into autumn and winter I think that some lighter grey / silver might be a refreshing lift.</p> <p>And I get your confusion - one thing that helps me is to think about my wardrobe in a way that I read one fashion designer did it - basically you have&nbsp;talking pieces and listening pieces. We're naturally drawn to the talking pieces (they're distinctive / loud in terms of colour, design, fabric, texture, cut etc - often they are statement pieces), but if you have a wardrobe of talking pieces then you often find that you have nothing to wear because you are lacking listening pieces (the supporting pieces , basics etc). The listening pieces are the ones that let the talking pieces shine, or bring together several talking pieces into a meaningful look. The problem is when you find these pieces in shops (and analyse them on their own) they are often a bit boring, uninspiring, indifferent etc) so we pass them by.
