I went one size down and they have been terrific. On me they don't really stretch out with wear; the fabrication allows them to retain their shape quite well. But they don't stay quite as crisp looking which is to be expected I guess. I don't know how much they will stretch though. Maybe Vivian will chime in. Maybe they run just a teeny bit big. I usually wear a 30 and these are 30P, which usually is a little smaller overall (but not a whole size or anything). I'd guess you need petite too. I have been wearing them mostly as you have them in 1 and 6 and they have been fantastic this summer. I LOVE the big roomy leg. They have a great weight to them -- and you're right, they are not stiff; they do have some drape but the weight keeps them from being flimsy. They wash really really well, too, and the heft returns if you iron them after washing. </p> <p>I'm so excited to see #s 4 and 9, because I had not thought about wearing them into fall. But they are definitely not the fluid, drapey type of fabric. It's a slightly thicker linen blend (I think linen, viscose, spandex) so I think the look and feel is almost like the modern soft stretchy denim. It's not really crisp but also not drapey. </p> <p>Sharan, yeah I was not sure whether the boots outfits were seasonally confused, but I think the thicker fabric helps here. They definitely wouldn't work for winter but I think for fall they'll be ok. The fabric is stiff and Diana has a curvy bottom. The back is "grabbing" Diana's bottom, but they are grabbing in the right way.&nbsp;</p> <p>The fabric is rigid which means that they won't drape softly against the contour of the body. The stiffness of the fabric exaggerates the flare of the culotte. These are dramatic culottes.
