Thanks for your feedback everyone! I'm still trying to figure out how to style oxfords. Suz, thanks for the lace suggestion -- hadn't though of that!

Thistle, I would definitely wear the dresses with heels but am looking for flat alternatives. I've never been a fan of ballet flats but perhaps it's time to give it a shot :)

Denise, thanks for your analysis! Interesting about the irony concept -- I'll have to consider that.

Meanwhile, I have a different pair of flats coming soon and will post pictures for comparison

While I really like the oxfords with the boyfriend jeans, I'm not sure about them with these longer sheath dresses. The dresses you have on are fantastic on you, they are modern classic and feminine. I'm with Thistle on preferring ballet flats with these dresses. Or heels. While the oxfords with dresses is an edgier style concept that to me, almost has to be worn with irony. (There I go using edgy when I swore I wouldn't any more since it is so overused. But I don't know what other word to use. Oh and probably irony in a fashion context is overused too.) So, to work with dresses, I think the oxfords need to go in more of a retro route like 60's librarian (pencil skirt, shirt and sweater) or 50s swing dress. Here are some pictures to show you what I mean (#1 and #2 -- I like #2 a lot.) I found way more examples of oxfords with short skirts, which is girly young to me but I thought #3 and #4 worked.

Cathy, the dresses are just SO amazing on you it is hard for me to concentrate on the shoes! But yes, I like them. Can you switch out the dark laces for a change? Especially with the first dress I think a lighter lace could work better.

The others are most certainly more "in the know" on the latest trends than I am. So take this very lightly.

Personally, I would say go with ballet flats. While I like the shoes on you, I just don't feel like the outfits looked pulled together with them. Perhaps if they had a higher heal?

I didn't see the earlier thread, but wanted to say that I really like the lighter-coloured Naya oxfords on you - they look great with all of the outfits you've posted. Speaking of outfits, these are all *fab*.

Last K/R of the day In my previous attempt, I had tried the black version of the oxfords with the red dress, which people felt was too heavy. I was able to get the more neutral color. Does this color work better? I'd like to be able to wear the oxfords with dresses as well as pants. Or should I go for a more ballet-style flat?

Thanks for your help!
