If you don't love them (and they have 2 issues - shape and wrinkling), let them go. Unless it's a shoe emergency and you have to have some new shoes, you can find better, I'm sure.

I think you have the incorrect shoe size. Naturalizer has different widths too. I would say go to the store and try all of the different shoe size/widths combinations, before you dsmiss them. I actually prefer low vamp shoes. I find them much more flattering on the foot. I find sling backs particularly annoying since your pants tend to sneak in between you heel and the shoe as you walk.

Diana, just chiming in to say I totally hear you on the low vamp thing. I can do sling backs, too, unlike most low vamp shoes.

I hope the new options work for you!

Yeah, I am almost certainly sending them back. The puckering bugs me a lot! I have another option (or two) on the way though.

Mary, I think you are right about the toe shape. It's weird though, my toes fill up every space in the shoe except that one spot!

Jonesy , slingbacks are actually one of the only types of low vamp pumps I can wear and that don't fly off my feet or cut up my heels. Because of their construction, slingbacks also tend to not bother my bunion nearly as much as other styles. I have MAJOR issues with most other types of pumps so in this case it's a comfort thing. Both pairs of my black dressy shoes are also slingback styles. I'd consider an ankle strap style but I can't find any dressy ones with reasonable heels.

Rita, I actually really want matte gold or pewter (not patent or very shiny metallic) but can't seem to find them right now! Since I got rid of all my summer dressy shoes a couple of weeks ago, I do need a pair of non-black dressy shoes and they need to be neutral enough to go with various colors.

They are lovely shoes but they don't really seem your style. Are you trying to fill a nude fancy shoe hole in your wardrobe? Remember, "nude" shoes don't necessarily need to be "nude." They could be low contrast greige, pewter, bronze, animal, snake, etc. I am digging those more than super nude, nude shoes these days.

I'm not really a fan...There's that asymmetrical part, then the puckering, then the whole slingback thing--are you are slingback type of woman? Not sure if they go with your style, but obviously you know your own style better than I do :).

I got that same kind of puckering when I tried the Cole Haan peep toe wedges Angie posted about recently. Everything else about the shoe was perfect except the puckering, so I passed. I just couldn't get over it.

I think you can find something that will fit better. I'd keep looking.

I have to agree with Elle NE. I think you have feet very similar to mine. The puckering results because our toes don't extend that far up the shoe. I have seen similar things on my feet.

I want to echo what Shannon said, others aren't going to be looking at your shoes from the same angle. How does the puckering look in the mirror? Although if it's going to irritate you regardless, every time you look down, probably not worth keeping them only to be annoyed whenever you wear them.

Thanks, ladies.

Hmm... I think part of the reason that they are puckering is that the leather is very soft. Kind of how you get puckering with very soft ballet flats. It does bug me a bit though! I am ordering some other options... so there may be a sequel next week, and then I will decide what to do about these.

Beth Ann, I want these for more fancy sitting-shoe occasions. Since I don't do so many of those, I can't justify buying anything really funky hence the more classic style. (That plus my fussy feet really limits the type of open shoes I can wear.) Anything I buy has to be versatile enough to go with all the summer wedding outfits. I actually prefer a pale gold/bronze instead of nude but those metallics doesn't seem to be very popular this year.

Lovely shoes, and the puckering thing wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, if they are truly comfortable. They are a very classic shoe, and not a style that you typically sport. Are you wanting something classic for a change? If so, then go for it! You certainly have some lovely skirts and frocks that would work nicely with them.

Good things first - you are right. From the side they look fantastic and I actually like the colour on you.

But I see what you mean about the puckering thing at the front (especially on your left foot). Is it possible that's just from the shoes being packaged or stiff? Possible that it might loosen up and go away? Or do you think it's a fit issue?

The toe cleavage wouldn't bother me.

When I asked about summer sandal options last week everyone seemed to like these, so I ordered them and they have just arrived. What do you all think? The fit is good and they do not seem to bother my bunion or fly off my feet. I like the way they look from the side but I think from the top they look a little weird. Too much toe cleavage maybe and they are doing this weird puckering thing at the front. The "nude" is also way too light to be nude for me, but I expected that going in and it does not really bother me.

ETA: Added another photo to show the toe puckering thing. It's more obvious when I stand and put weight on them (I am sitting in photo 3). I think it's a function of my foot shape.
