It, and any of its color incarnations, look pretty bad on me. About the only member of the brown family I can wear is a deep chocolate brown.</p> <p>And I do wear a lot of dresses. And skirts. I have a few pencil skirts that I enjoy, and a handful of trousers&nbsp;that it might work with, but I have really been enjoying the "kindness" of skirts. Frankly, they just fit my hips better than trousers.</p> <p>I have learned a valuable thing or two. The smooth leather jackets do much, much better on me than motos or anything with pockets or other detailing. I think this is why the worked for me even if not perfect. Simple, clean and streamlined&nbsp;is what I need to look for! I </p> <p>I will give it a few more pets and then send it on its way.&nbsp; I am sure as fall draws closer there will be more options. </p> <p>And it is a want, (a strong want!), not a need, and I need a&nbsp;puffer coat. Ugh. I love the color for me (deep chocolate brown) and it fits well and is a nice jacket but I&nbsp;wish I would have shopped longer and tried on more options first just to be sure. I must admit I do have the infamous $30 Spiegel black one on it's way to try. To me it was worth a risk at that price just for fun if it's not great on. You might also find yourself in the dress vs pants proportions dilemma, which is an issue for "investment" jackets.<br /> So...one thing to decide is whether you want to close your eyes to black leather and focus on the softer/ warmer colors now available; or to aim for a best-with dresses jacket( &amp; try it on with lots of your skirts/ dresses) and so on.
