The light pants are doing the twisty thing again, so they're going back. Thanks, everyone!

I like the subtle metallic of the top and the shape of it. I'm ok with the light pants, but not in this particular combination. Maybe a lighter top under the jacket? Not quite sold on the dark boots which shorten and taper these too much for me. Maybe more of a tunic (looser on bottom) with the light pants and dark boots.

1/2 are great - you could try boatneck style tops as well as military style details on the shoulders (epulets?) to add some width if you feel your shoulders are narrow. Love that jacket on you as well. The light pants I'm not crazy about. I just prefer darker shades on bottoms in general.

Love 1/2 - so great!
Do you have lighter shoes for the light pants? I think in 3-4-5 your legs are "shortened", proportionally, by the dark top hitting at the hip & the boots hitting at your calf.
I don't believe in the "no light pants" thing but then again I haven't been able to make my light gray pants work yet. hmmm.
Seconding the love for that jacket.

The top looks great, not boring at all. The light-colored pants are ok, although I'm not 100% sold on them. It's hard to tell, but I think the pockets are a little too wide-set. Do you think the pants will be versatile for you? Do you love them?

That green jacket is an 11 on you, by the way.

First off, you look a lot better than your "best" imagined image (I mean those ones you posted the other day).

I really like the top with the dark jeans - that's a great outfit for you! I don't find the top boring at all.

As for the light pants, they aren't bad, but I'm not crazy about them, either. If you LOVE, however, that's what should rule you!

I love the black pants on you. I don't think the others look bad - they don't look as flattering imo. Love the top under the jacket too.

I loved both of these when I tried them on in the store, but there was something weird about the seam on the pants, it felt twisty or something. Same thing when I got home. Last night, I went to bed thinking both pieces would go back because the top wasn't enough of a glitzy metallic, and the bottoms had that weird twisty feeling. Then I tried everything on again today to make sure and I still really liked them! And the twisty feeling was gone -- they felt completely normal.

First up -- Is this top boring? Since I have narrow shoulders, I think I should look for more open necklines like this. It's a bronzey-flecked color, which I like better than black. I've been trying to replace my black tops with non-black dark tops. The black jeggings are new, too. LOVE THEM. Strange thing, though. The top smells heavily of perfume. I normally hate perfume, it gives me an instant headache and makes me nauseous... but this one I want to smell forever! I wish I knew what it was. Alas, I know this shirt was worn before it was returned, not just because of the perfume. Those annoying clear hanger loops were cut off, too. (I usually cut them off myself.)

Second up -- Can I get away with light-colored pants, given my heavier bottom half? I mentioned in another thread that I haven't worn light-colored pants since What Not To Wear started and they preached about how no one should wear light-colored bottoms. I've been thinking about trying them again, and when I saw this print and how they fit, I thought the stars maybe had aligned. They are slim cut so I can tuck them into boots or wear them with flats.

My phone camera is taking much better photos, proportion-wise, than my DSLR. What I see in these pics is what I think I really look like. Phew. The pics are just a bit grainy.
