I think with the skirts, it's not just a matter of how long each skirt is, but also that with the tucking you can see where your natural waist is, making the jacket look especially long somehow (vs. the jeans and dress looks, where the eye can't tell where your natural waist is, so imagines it a bit lower, I think). I am quite short-waisted, so that's why I noticed it :). This is ALWAYS a tricky spot for me as my shoulders are very narrow and quite sloped.
