What on earth would I do without my YLF feedback? The tags are coming off and it's going to Danier Leather to get the sleeves shortened. I had just tucked them in for the pictures but they need about 3 inches taken off.

I want to thank you all for your insightful comments - particularly with respect to the cobalt blue skirt. Love the colour, hate the fit - it's gone back but I know I want to find a slim midi skirt in that colour. I'm a complete midi-pencil-a-holic!

Angie - special thanks to you for weighing in when you're so busy and with your k-comment. I guess my search is over for my leather jacket - and it wasn't even that painful thanks to Meagan! Speaking of Megan, I have emailed the store manager to let her know the jacket was indeed a better fit thanks to her SA's keen eye and investigative skills.

You had me at *thumbnail* #9 --- you HAVE to keep this!

I love how it looks borderline boyfriend worn open with the jeans and then goes feminine with the nipped waist over a skirt.

I think the blue skirt was simply the wrong proportion to work with this --- what bothered me was the little edge of zip showing, not enough to be intentional but just enough to catch the eye and hold it.

The orange on the other hand... so chic!

I'm in the camp that says no worries to the back fit --- it really should sort itself out over time.

I think you found The ONE, Shannon --- and a clever, thoughtful SA in the bargain!

Shannon, the *other* leather jacket was nice in a feminine and retro kind of way, but this one is AMAZING in a more edgy androgynous kind of way. I LOVE IT! Please please keep. Especially now that Angie has given her blessing on the fit. The cut of it is unbelievably awesome on your body and for you style. WOW, WOW, WOW!

Keep.

It works well with the skirts because you're showing where your waist starts by tucking in the top, AND the hem of the jacket is asymmetrical. Breaks up the lines.

Well done

I love the style on you, and it looks great with trousers and the dress. Not sure about skirts, although if the orange skirt outfit were lower contrast between the top and bottom, I would probably give it the thumbs up. The only thing is that when the jacket is zipped it looks too tight across the back, so that would be my only hesitation--if you want to be able to wear it closed a lot. If you were in a pinch and cold, of course I would just close it and not worry about it.

What happens if you zip it up halfway, just to the top of your ribcage? It's a low neck anyway, so you won't lose out on chest warmth.

I agree the jacket is too long to wear with shorter skirts (BTW I have returned the cobalt blue skirt to Winners - the weird "flaring" thing at the bottom was really bugging me - not a great fit). I'm hoping Angie chimes in re: length and fit in general.

I can move my arms freely and it doesn't feel too tight unless zipped up. Still thinking.

I really like this one on you!! I agree it kind of has a multiple personality effect, in a good way =) It looks edgy with the jeans and more classic with the skirts. I really like the neckline/no-collar on this one in comparison with the other. The back doesn't bother me at all. If it's comfortable on, I say keep for sure!

Ooh, I like it even more with the orange skirt! Contrary to Jonesy, I like the high-contrast tuck because it makes your legs look soooo long (heh, I guess maybe I noticed because of my own short leg issues). Anyway, it doesn't make the jacket look too long to me since the jacket nips in at the waist.

I love it with the pants and the dress, especially unzipped. I think with the skirts, it's not just a matter of how long each skirt is, but also that with the tucking you can see where your natural waist is, making the jacket look especially long somehow (vs. the jeans and dress looks, where the eye can't tell where your natural waist is, so imagines it a bit lower, I think). I am quite short-waisted, so that's why I noticed it :). You could mitigate this by wearing a less contrasty shirt with the skirt, possibly.

I think it looks great with pants and with the midi length dress/skirt; though that's not going to be a very conventional proportion, if you're OK with that it looks great to me. Too long for anything shorter than that.

Shannon firstly I want your dress in #9!! Now onto the jacket :)

I think this looks brilliant. I love the shape and i do think this looks amazing over pants, dresses and skirts. With the dresses and skirts it just a matter of ensuring the length of the skirt is correct for the jacket which I think all of these are.

It does gather at the back when it is done up but will you wear it done up often? And to be honest I am not really sure this is an issue.

I really like that is is collarless too. One of the attractions of this jacket for me is that it looks really cool and funky over jeans but over a skirt of dress it kind of mimics a more business / corporate jacket but adds edge without being over the top.

Looking at it, I wonder if sizeing up wouldn't make it too big for you? How does it feel around the shoulders? Do you have room to move?

In short, I love this on you.

I like it with all these skirts. It may be a bit long for flared skirts but good for pencils.
I would not size up if you want it to wear indoors primarily. Unless you want to wear thicker sweater under it this size is good.

Rae - it actually feels really good on and I really like the shoulder fit. This is ALWAYS a tricky spot for me as my shoulders are very narrow and quite sloped. Shoulders on jackets are almost always too big for me.

Zapotee - this was probably the wrong skirt to try it on with, as it's knee length. My other pencil skirts are longer, the same length as the dress. Maybe I just wouldn't wear it with this blue skirt.

ETA: just added two more pics with my new orange pencil skirt. I think this length is better.

This jacket is throwing me out for a loop. The length look good with the dress, but too long with the skirt. I don't know. I still think you got the right size. It wiill not look good, when opened, if you size up. The leather will give a bit as well.

Ooh, I like it! I would not size up unless you can't move. IMO the snug fit is what helps it go with the skirts and dresses in addition to the pants. The defined waist does a nice, almost peplum like thing with the dresses that might be lost with a looser fit.

How do you feel in it?

I've added a couple more pics - with a dress and skirt option for consideration.

Sveta - this is primarily for indoor, like a blazer, but I might want the option of wearing it with jeans and a tee on a cool as my outdoor jacket. Should I try the size up for comparison?

Dianthus - a house? PM me - we have to talk. And thanks for the derriere compliment (lol) - these are the new flared jeans I thrifted. Hubby likes them too!

I would like to see it with a skirt and a dress before I cast my vote. The longer length might not work with frocks. As far as size, I think it is fine but I like my leather jackets tight.

I think it is a keeper too. I am tempted to go try one on myself but will try to refrain since I'm likely buying a house this week. :)

I have to say that your derriere looks particularly good in those jeans too.
