So, I like both. If you can keep both, I would.

On brands:

I am not much of a Kohls shopper, and when I do buy there, I tend to buy clothes I consider "disposable" I know, I know, bad for the environment, but it's the truth. Items that are out of my norm and I want to try out and see if I like first.

I have found my RL dresses to be well made and I like the drape and fabrication of them.
FTR, the solid blue dress is from Chaps (never see that brand anymore except at Kohl's). For now I've decided to keep both, since neither broke the budget. I haven't taken the tags off yet, though, and I think both places have a rather liberal return period. I'm not sure if I'm going to take one of them on my trip, since neither is really a day-to-night dress, more of a just night dress. (But not a nightdress!) Thank you everyone for the feedback.
AG, I can't remember - the print one is Lauren Ralph Lauren but I can't remember what the solid one's brand is, and I'm not at home right now; I grabbed these pics this morning but didn't get a chance to post them until now.

Great question, Caro - I have a navy jacket I could wear with the print one; I guess I'd go basic black or maybe white in the summer with the solid. I was thinking the solid would be more versatile but most of the time I'd be wearing it by itself or with a jacket; it's not like a print top or skirt.
I really like them both. The first is more fashion forward and scarier to wear, so of course would be my personal preference. The second super nice and classic.
Hiya! I've been looking for a replacement dress in my new size that will serve for nice dinners, evenings out, etc, which is knit for easy packing, etc. I have recently found the following two options, which are very similar in shape:
1/2 - royal blue (? almost cobalt but not quite), via Kohl's
3/4: white and blue print, via Marshalls
Neither are particularly styled; I did put heels on but you can't see them in the photo :)
Are either of these a definite yes?
