I think I agree with Zap. The jackets give it some structure and do a kind of reverse-column-of-color thing.

I like it with a topper, not on its own. It needs a little reigning in.

Jeanne: I like! I see what others are saying about a more cropped jacket, but I like the depth of saturation in the blue -- it seems to anchor the floral even better than the pink (which I like too, btw). I think we'll be seeing more longer, looser jackets over dresses in the future and with your legs-to-your-elbows you can absolutely work it as is. I think your camera is centered a little lower, like mine, and this is creating a slight widening effect that JR noted. IRL we see each other at eye-level, of course. Do you have a bold, simple pendant that would work with this dress? A long, solid, but summery scarf!

It's good to see you having fun with flowers!

I like it, the print and tiers are both fun

It's a cute dress. I wouldn't say it's too young. But I've seen you in some killer outfits, and this is not a killer. I agree the second jacket works better, I think because it forms a straighter line down the front. The first one, with the way it hangs over this dress, widens you.

I can see why you were drawn to it -- very pretty! I think it looks lovely on you and while not a sheath style, it doesn't look bulky. I can imagine those tiers giving plenty of movement.

I like it best with the pink jacket (the blue one might be a touch long for this dress), and could see it with one of your (multiple) cropped denim jackets. This might also call for the cropped white denim jacket. . .

Work appropriate? I'm no longer wearing dresses above my knees (although I'm probably two decades older than you), so I'll leave that for others!

The dress is very pretty. By itself, I think there's not enough structure, but I think it looks great with the jackets. I especially love the pink one with it.

I like it Jeanne - lots of wonderful colours to work with and it looks like it has nice movement thanks to the tiers. This would be work appropriate where I am so don't see that as a problem. I really like it in pic #2 with the pink jacket. Would also look great with blue or white denim jackets.

I don't think it looks young or outdated, but I do think you want a more cropped jacket with it. And it doesn't look bulky -- especially if it has movement as you've described. As far as work-appropriate, what is your workplace like? This would be totally appropriate for my job.

So pretty. That Rack is a dangerous place, isn't it?

I know I"m trying to SYC but this dress called out to me at the Rack while I was returning something AND I had a Nordstrom Note. Now I need to decide if I really want to keep it. Please help.
It's this one (not petite but the only photo I could find)
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ke.....te/3087588

I love the colors and pattern and fun summery feeling, but am unsure if the style is too young too old too outdated? I do think if I keep I need to take up the shoulders a bit as it hangs a little longer on top than I'd like. Forgive the poor hair and I only tried a few of my jackets with it but every color in the rainbow works with it. Does it add as much bulk to my apple shape as I can now see in the photo? It has a lot of movement IRL and I normally do not stand so unflatteringly as in 3. Is is work appropriate?
Thank you for your inputs.
