I wish I knew the answer to this one. I basically lived in my yoga gear for 6 months when I was losing weight. No joke! I bought one shirt and one pair if in-between jeans...and that's it. No wonder I was in desperate need of YLF at the end of it all!

And I realise my way is not an option for those who work outside the home.

But I also tend to think that it might make sense to hold back on buying tailored items for the next while. You will be able to go on a real shopping spree when you are done. Meanwhile, accessories are a pretty safe bet when you just need a pop of something new.

Everybody loses weight differently, at a different pace, in a different place. I was shocked at the changes in myself. They really snuck up on me. Even though the scale was going down I did not see any difference in the mirror or even truly feel any change with in my clothing for about three months. And all of a sudden, I did see it. I mean REALLY saw it. And within a week or two after that, it started feeling as if ALL my pants were le BF. Too bad slouchy wasn't in yet. You see, you may be doing this at JUST the right time. ALL your pants will be slouchy pants soon!!

While I think the jacket looks really good, I am working hard to wait further "in season" to buy, so I understand your desire to wait a bit and see where you are at. Having just lost (and regained!) weight I know when I am just off the losing phase oversized items dont hold a lot of appeal for me.

Hmmm, what to do for the best. It is tricky, I have bought some new items this summer, pants, tops and a dress but nothing fitted, as I am also trying so lose some weight. All my items "should" still be wearable with a couple of well placed darts etc. But I haven't bought anything fitted. Although I love the jacket on you, you do not seem 100% convinced. I have no idea how much it costs but on the assumption that its not a super bargain it might be best to return it and buy something awesome later in your new size.

You know Zap, I have no idea how I will lose weight. I did try on the size down when I tried on this one. It didn't do up - mind you, that's not a deal breaker for me as long as it "looks" like I can do it up. It was also too wide in the shoulders and really the only difference in the fit between the two sizes was the waist.

Deborah - I am strongly leaning towards returning, which is surprising the heck out of me. Although I absolutely LOVE the jacket and feel fab with it on, the fit is not 100% and playing with it in my closet today for a bit, it's not quite as versatile as I had hoped. I think a pure white masculine fitting blazer would be better.

Shannon under the circumstances, I would return it. When you lose weight I think it will definitely read as too big. And there are bound to be other just as fab white jackets out there. I realize "the look" is oversized but I find on myself this type of oversize cut ends up being uncomfortable and I feel frumpy. Being petite, having a large bust and hips the oversize effect back fires on me.

Shannon, I don't know. I have that dilemma myself. I am trying to lose some "bum weight" at the moment. Are you the kind of person who loses weight all over? If so, perhaps you could track the size down to see if it would fit now? Is that an option?

I hear you, Shannon. I'm in the same boat, or, perhaps I should say, back on the wagon. I've decided I'll wait to buy more expensive items until we're really into spring, even if that means the selection is a little iffy. Past experience tells me that I'll be at least somewhat successful, but I know that the body changes over time regardless of weight, so I can't expect things to fit the same. On the plus side, (lol) I'm really craving more ease and just a little slouch --- I plan to achieve my ideals fits without shopping!

BTW -- you do have a wonder woman who could probably alter it later.

How often do you see yourself wearing it and what would you consider good CPW?
Personally, although I think you have many styling options, it's not something *I* would wear more than say twice a month - it stands out too much for weekly wear. That's just me and how I realistically wear stuff, not trying to impress people with my vast closet or anything. I'd say it totally depends on how often you will wear it in the next few months, because I assume you will be successful and it will be too big eventually :)
If you didn't already have a great wardrobe, I'd say buy for the body you have now. But I don't get the feeling you are struggling for options.

Thank you all so much for your feedback...I must admit, I'm feeling slightly confused on the jacket in the light of day. It is definitely slightly large on me and the shoulders are indeed too wide, as they were in the smaller size. It is obviously the way the jacket is cut.

Here's my issue - I wasn't going to advertise it here but I have also joined the Lean Eating Program Suz is part of and my concern is if I'm successful with the program, this jacket will not look good in a couple of months. So do I wear it slightly oversized now and ditch it if/when it doesn't fit? or do I return now and find my dream white jacket in the spring? Help!

Ooh! And you who had a white jacket on your wishlist! Well you can tick that one off, you found it!

I don't think the shoulders are too big, they are padded and meant to be stiff, it's part of the style. However the length commands to wear it with pants. It looks terrific with the BF. I suspect it looks best with a slight slouch. I feel you will get a lot of wear out of it.

Keep, keep, keep!

I like the jacket, but prefer a shirt underneath that is not a vee. I love 4-5 and with a straight top under it I'd love the other look with pants. I'm not as convinced with skirts yet. As long as you wear it like a BF style the oversized bit is ok with me.

Shannon, I love the jacket and I see it working primarily over pants or jeans with a heel.
But I think the jacket is too big on the shoulders. And if you look at the area between the bust and arm there is bulky fabric...it doesn't sit smooth. I'm afraid this would be a deal breaker for me. I know you have a real appreciation for good fit, and that is evidenced by your beautifully curated wardrobe, and that is why I just don't think this is a good enough fit for you

This looks great on you. Especially loving #3 with the black column underneath. Not keen on the white T but I think you could try any number of colours, not sure what you have, but how about red, cobalt, even a light grey. I feel you can get a lot of use from this jacket.

I love it! It seems a bit long for skirts though, but I guess it is only me, who sees it this way.

I love the cut in the front!! My only question is whether the shoulders are too wide? Sometimes it's hard for me to tell in pics. Other than that, love!

Shannon, I'm so glad you got this, it looks great! And it meshes with your style beautifully. Love it with black underneath especially!
