I am actually not getting the amount of wear I thought I would from my lighter colored (tan, not taupe) booties I bought last year (fortunately, on a good sale). I will need to look at those styling suggestions. I am getting way more wear out of my darker booties and even my colored ones like the burgundy Pliners. With bootcuts, you don't see much of the bootie anyway, so I would wear like that, but if you are wearing skinnies you might want a little something lighter up top in an otherwise dark outfit.
