I just noticed Bluefly ships to Canada. I have an Andrew Marc puffer that I love, it's actually my second one, I shrunk out of the first.

He also has a cheaper line called Marc New York

Oh darn, sorry to hear the first puffer did not work. For myself, I prefer my shorter puffers to end immediately after my bum. In #1 I'd say a couple of inches shorter. Since you are in Canada, I'd expect a longer puffer to be a better choice isn't it? I thought I recalled you mentioning at one point that you walk to work? I'm thinking the more coverage with a coat, the better!

Oh, Sveta, you are so sweet to think of your mom this way!

I really hope that brown puffer can be found in your size.

If you PM me the details I can look in Kingston for you if you like when I get home! And after Christmas I will be in Toronto and could check the stores there.

I love the first one. It manages to be a really flattering, feminine and stylish jacket, while being a puffer. Not easy to do!

ETA-- just read that you are giving it up. Too bad, I thought it was perfect on you and not too short. It has the most beautiful silhouette from the back!

I am back to report on the developments:
I have decided to wear my new black puffer to a gym today just to get a feeling of it (tags are still on ;-)) After gym we went to visit my mom. She has been against puffers all the time but she liked this one. While we were at her apartment she tried it in - and I realized that it fits her much better than me. It is a bit short on me - it is hard to see in the pictures but it became apparent after I have seen my mom in it: she is 4" shorter than me. It fits her perfectly!
Long story short I offered it to her and left it in her place for her to mull over. If she decides that she wants it it will be our Xmas gift to her I just feel that I don't want to keep something which is not perfect for this price for myself.
This means I am back to square one in terms of puffers but if my mom keeps this one it will make me happy anyway!

They both look great but will the short one be warm enough? I recently rehomed my short puffer, because it didn't cover my bum and legs I still got cold and that's here in the uk! I find the more covered up my body is the warmer my feet are x

Sveta I like the short one done up. The fit is lovely and it looks really stylish. The brown one is very nice too and Im sorry you have to return it. I hope you find another. I think the black is definitely a keeper. I will look amazing over jeans and I think it works quite nicely over your new midi. I think it will be quite versatile. I love your cream one!

They both look great! I like your cream one too! You can never have too many puffers where you live (this coming from someone who has two even though it never snows here!). Too bad about the brown one. It looks very similar to my Lands End Luxe Down Coat though...can you order from there? They are having 40% off everything right now.

Suz, Winners is not known for their customer service, isn't it? :-)
None of my other boots work for me when we have a lot of snow on the ground and temps below -10. If I insert liners they become tighter and because of this my feet get colder fast. I had frostbite on my toes 20+ years ago and in the last 5 years my feet became really sensitive to cold. These boots work for me because they are lined with sheepskin all over inside. As a downside of this they look bulkier than my other boots.
I think they do not look that bad with tucked in jeans but of course not with this skirt. Too much bulk all over! Luckily I always change out of them at work...

Wow, those coats are both great. Amazing fit and details on them both; you really lucked out! I just hope you can find another medium in the long. I would look in Kingston for you but I am on the road (to visit my mother). Will they phone around for you?

I think the dress looked better with the long coat over but also looks good with the short jacket. I do agree with Rae that the boots are not prefect with the dress but also understand the need for warmth, particularly when you are walking. I wonder if there are any liners you could try in your regular boots, or if you could wear the dress with short jacket only on days that are not bitter, bitter cold and you could manage your more fashionable boots. Because with those, I think this short jacket would seem dressy enough to work.

Rae, unfortunately these are my winter boots. They are shearling limed and because of this are not very sleek. I cannot war my nice boots in winter because my toes get numb very quickly when it is below freezing. These are the only boots which keep my feet warm.

Bummer, I was so excited for you to keep both!

The short black one is just amazing - we have seen so much fur detail lately, but this hood is different and really lives up to your other fab outerwear. Amaaaazing with jeans, and I like it with the skirt length, too. I think it maybe looks dressier than the particular boots you showed it with when paired with the skirt, but luckily you are stocked with lots of great boots.

The long one is a very nice fit for a puffer - I hope you find another!

Thanks, Angie. Actually I have grabbed a blazer in the store, put it over my cashmere sweater and tried the coats on top of this. They do fit over layers.
Unfortunately I have discovered that the long coat has one fastener missing so it goes back. There was only one in size M and L is too big on the back. I will check other Winners stores for size M but it is a slim hope.
So Angie, does this short black puffer work with my midi dress?

I have found 2 puffers in Winners today: long in brown and short in black. As you may know I am looking for a second puffer I can wear with longer skirts as my cream above the knee one does not look right with them.
#1-5: I have tried it with my dress and with jeans to give you an idea how it looks. It fits well and I love the hood. It also has this cool double closure (#1). The fabric has the slight sheen to it but not as much as it looks in ##2-3 with the flash. I think it is a good quality puffer (original price was $550) and it is heavily discounted but still expensive at $270.
# 6-7 This brown puffer covers my midi dress completely. Again I think the fit is great. The quality is not as high as the black one but it is half the price.
Just for comparison I have included #8 - my current cream puffer.

So what do you say: which one should I keep or should I return both and continue my puffer quest?
Thanks for your help!
