Karen - I’ve only ever ordered from their catalog/online. I’ve considered trying others because they are so comfy. You do need to be patient for purchases and returns, as it’s not a quick process. I bought a pair of boots in wide for a present I sent to someone, and she did like them. I don’t know much else. I cannot have my toes squished, and mine don’t do that. I’d rely a lot on reviews to find a good fit.

Besides the wide part, I echo wishing for that travel shoe. It’s elusive, and so very hard to know until you’re actually doing the walking.

delurked - excellent info! Are you able to find them in a B&M store or at least a U.S. based retailer? I wonder how their wide fit would feel. I worry some times I have gotten so used to shoes being a tad snug on my little toe and "6th toe" area that I don't have the right expectations.
Suz, bj111, JAileen, unfrumped, Jules, Joy - I had no idea how difficult grey would be to find, and the undertone issue is real. Good suggestions to check in natural light and try on with existing outfits - I don't want to need to buy new clothes to wear these.
kate - I really like the Ecco grey - they had the Gillian in the dove grey last year that I badly wanted to work. Unfortunately, a tad narrow for my D foot. These actually kind of fit the same way so I will do a side by side comp on fit as I can't wear my Soft 8 high tops for heavy walking days.

I'm trying hard to be super picky about my purchases this year - so will ponder this. The HEWI of a stylish versatile one-bag wide orthotic friendly leather travel shoe that I can walk 10 miles in remains a challenge. Thank you all!

I am also seeing the greenish undertone, but they will not be next to most of your clothes. They seem more cool than warm and would probably blend well with most of your wardrobe. Try using them in outfits to see if you like them.

I've found that the ECCO grey leather shoe, which bookends my hair, is comfortable and looks like a plain light grey. No overtones of olive or khaki. It has been easy to style with all my neutrals, but looks especially good with white cotton trousers and a silver knit top.

They are reading khaki/olive green to me. I don’t think that’s a bad thing though, it may make them easier to style with neutral outfits with various undertones if you aren’t trying to match them but rather use as a complementary colour.

As a connoisseur of grey shoes, I like them. Suz is right though, finding true grey is very difficult, if not impossible. Take them outdoors to see their real color before you decide.

I like gray shoes!
I agree there can be color issues, but if I wear with jeans I like that, and with white I like the medium contrast.

It has got a good following in the UK, I have not bought from them, but they are well regarded and thought of. I haven't heard any 'horror' stories, only good things, particularly from two friends who have problem feet.

I like them!

I don't know a thing about the brand so cannot comment on that. I will say that grey footwear can be surprisingly complicated to style. Exactly because of what you imply -- the undertones can differ so significantly and it is therefore really hard to pair greys with one another.

Grey bookends my own hair, so that solves one problem. But when I was blonde I found it even more challenging.

I have worn the Hotter pixie for years. I’ve had 3 pair and really like them. My daughter has a different boot from them. I’ve found them very comfortable, tts, and we both have an average to slightly narrower width foot.

I just received these leather sneakers from a new-to-me company based int he UK. Hotter. Does anyone have experience with them?
https://www.hotter.com/us/en/b.....ge%20Weave

I've been on the hunt for a grey leather (not suede) fashion sneaker that is in a wide width and orthotic friendly. These look a bit green/grey in some light, straight grey in others. Comfortable but the color tone is throwing me - I'm not sure how it plays with my cool toned wardrobe heavy in navy, burgundy, teals, turquoise and emerald/hunter greens.

The brand seems to be geared to wider shoes - the "standard" size feels like a D width to me, and they go wider. But my average to narrow heel doesn't seem to slip, which is rare for me in a wider sneaker.

Is this a Keep and if so what colors/styles would work best with it?

It took a month for them to arrive so I have a taste of the pain of those of you ordering internationally from the U.S. They were free shipping and a big sale so I thought it was worth a try.
