Ladies, thanks for confirming my second thoughts and also providing some very insightful feedback into why this does not work. Right now I need pieces that work for me and don't need to be styled just so. Back it goes.

I agree it's a return, M. You are long in the leg and short in the waist, and this top shortens the waist even further. And what Kelly said.

I wonder how it would look with bottoms in one of the colors in the top-- black, as Ambergreen suggested, or white, or maybe even pink--if you happen to have something in just the right pink.

Fun top!

That has happened to me many a time. I think the pattern cuts you in half. I think it would be fine if the change in print wasn't so jarring. I love the handkerchief hem but I would return.

This is an interesting top--but I think, as a fellow hourglass, the neck is a bit high and the length a bit short perhaps.

That said, I think that this could really be funky and fun paired with something more interesting than jeans. So many times, I used to try funking up a jeans look with an interesting top, but it was so often simply a style clash. Some tops really need to go with pieces that can stand up to them. I'm kind of thinking a funky black skirt maybe? Give some other pairings a shot before you decide?

Friends, I liked this BCBG top in the store. Now that I have it home if seems off. I'm leaning return. What do you think? Fun, funky piece, or just weird? Apologies for the lack of styling and greasy appearance...it's the height of summer around here.
