I do think jackets with a single button set up high at natural waist, and that hit at high hip, are ideal for figure flattering/leg lengthening/slimming and that's the shape of 90% of my jackets. </p> <p>But the LOFT navy peacoat I recently bought has had me second guessing. And also the merino wool Jcrew sweater jacket I bought last year -- which I sized way up as that was the only size left, so it basically fits me oversized rather than fitted, very much like this Halogen blazer is fitting, except in a sweater knit. Younger me would totally have refused to wear this blazer without heels. Older me barely ever wears heels anymore. </p> <p>I think you are right in that it's just a tad too long, including where the button hits, compared to the model. My natural waist is rather high, basically right under rib cage.. It's 0.5-1" too long, max, torso wise, yet the sleeves are the perfect length? If I sized down the vertical length might be better but fairly sure it wouldn't fit width wise. Also might not be as "relaxed" looking. And then the sleeves might be too short? As well as too tight? The sleeves on this are fairly narrow which I rather like.&nbsp;</p> <p>The line in the blazer is actually orange, not red. I don't "do" orange but with this plaid it's nominal.
