Thanks for the support, Deborah! Thinking of SYC makes the decision VERY easy, too

Thanks for all the great input! I understand all your concerns and they were actually why I was on the fence with the dress. I sort of liked it, but also found that something might be "off" without knowing exactly what it was.

Angie: not a spanner at all. I appreciate your enlightening comments! Very interesting about the style being juvenile, because I used to buy clothes in this shop 10-15 years ago, but found the quality very low when comes to fabrics and cut (and some of the items too trendy), so stopped going there. Their main target group is probably in the younger section. And I'm definately not getting the dress to wear a denim jacket over ;-)

Final decision is RETURN. Thanks for leading me back on track again! Now it's SYC again :-)

I'm thinking that this dress would work better for every body if the bodice were a bit shorter and the skirt part a bit longer. . .

Sorry Harmonica, but there's something "off" about this dress. Where the top half of the dress meets the bottom half doesn't work to my eye.

I wonder if it's the way the scoop neck is interacting with the chevron formed in the centre front, but something about this dress is actually sort of downplaying your curves. You might not mind that, of course---I sometimes feel like playing up my rectangle/cylinder shape instead of aiming for hourglass. (This is especially the case with the front view, and not the back, which is why I wondered about the chevron.)

Sorry to me a spanner :(

I don't find this dress all that flattering, Harmonica. I don't mind the curved stripes (I love stripes that go off in all directions) - it's more the silhouette of the dress with the stripes. I'm also not fond of the sleeve length. To my eye, the dress looks juvenile instead of youthful. I hope that makes sense. So I am a return vote. (That said, I would really like the dress with a denim jacket - but what is the point of that?).

I am in the minority, so of course as always, take my opinion for what it is worth to you

i like it. the v pattern on the torso is really slimming as is the curving stripes on the skirt. accentuates the waist. cute dress

i saw a post of a similar patterned dress that did not get love for you YLF'ers.

What do you say to this one? Is it flattering or not? I'm especially thinking of the horizontal stripes in the mid area (tummy issues, you know ;-))

I'm thinking of it as the jersey version of fit & flare for a summer dress (summers here are not super hot). Not styled at all here, but tried on dark hose in #2 because I can see this dress for spring and autumn too.
