Bad@$$ Evel pants do make you ski faster. I wore them today and loved the comfort, fit and function and the look. The gals at the xc area asked me the name of the brand. Thanks to everyone here for the comments. The snow is melting desperately fast so I had to climb high and pick through some sketchy sections, but it was worth it. Bonus Pic #5 - what my house looked like this time last year in a record breaking snow season.</p> <p>The brand is Maloja - I think German? Sometime simply the process of asking for feedback is helpful. Because it was so gorgeous and melting sooo fast, I skied 12+ miles on exhausted legs in my schlubby 10 year old pants. And the whole time I was wishing I was wearing these pants, and that I would be sad if I returned. So Keep it is and I am so happy they are YLF approved! DH even said "why aren't you wearing your Evel pants?" And as he has been under the weather and hasn't skied much, he would have had a view of the stars all day because he couldn't keep up.</p> <p><b>Isabel</b> - you hit the issue exactly - the white is so high contrast. If it were grey, or light blue, or in my dreams burgundy, I would be in heaven.</p> <p><b>lisa p</b> - I like athleisure a lot - it fits my life and environs - but you are right, these are definitely ski only. We live near Lake Tahoe in the California mountains and I can drive 7 minutes to this area in my nordic ski boots. So I have no excuses.</p> <p><b>Ramblin Ann</b> - now these are officially my bad@$$ Evel pants! I typically ski for 1.5 hours - yesterday and today were long at 2 hours, so I don't usually even wear a hydration pack. I have wanted to upgrade my gear - it tends to be functional, unattractive and several sizes too big. I cross country ski a lot, and have been wearing schlubby, baggy pants for years.</p> <p>I found a new-to-me very technical European brand of pants in a shop on a trip, but they didn't have my size or preferred color. I tracked them down and I love the function, the fact that the XS is almost the right length (with articulated knees and ankle zips, alteration is impossible) and the the calf to ankle is straight, not skinny. Love the navy color and I love star motifs.&nbsp;</p> <p>But DH rolled his eyes a bit and told me they looked like something Evel Knievel would wear (reference photo attached). I told him that was what made them great. He then said he would get them for me for my birthday, so he doesn't hate them, but.... </p> <p>I am hoping they are fun and not too silly for a 50 year old mom to wear. The rear end stars would mostly not show as I don't tuck, and often wear a jacket. But I would know they were there and I would smile and ski faster. But not if people will be pointing and laughing at me, not with me.&nbsp; </p> <p>I want it to fit my "<b>Creative Mountain Cool"</b> Moniker (which I haven't had time to work on since I got so many helpful suggestions) and my descriptors of&nbsp;<b>Casual,&nbsp;Fun,&nbsp;Detailed,&nbsp;Sleek, Eclectic</b>.</p> <p>Bonus pics from my morning ski yesterday. I skied 15 miles - almost died but it was so gorgeous, and DH told me I couldn't come home until 11 because DD was skyping a college interview at the kitchen table. Way to Motivate. </p>
