I absolutely heart the heart shape ones! And the ones you already own, and the rose-gold stroppy sandals you want to keep. If the heart ones are the most comfortable, I say go with those. It is a cute style, but good cute and I think they will tie in nicely with retro outfits.

Ginger, yes I understand how you might think the ankle strap shoes are too nude. For me, I find tans work best as a nude on my skin, because for some reason the true pinky nudes make my skin look really pasty.

You are both so right. To be honest with myself, if I found any single pair of these at... Target, say, I'd be perfectly happy with them. Assuming they fit! Since I do have the choice, I need to focus on what feels the best.

I love the rose gold sandals. Fab find!!! My other favourites are the white perforated pointy toe flats....

In the end, keep only those shoes that ARE COMFORTABLE. I used to own over 100 pairs of shoes....and I only ever wore what was 100% comfy. The rest - I just brought them out of their boxes, looked at them, ooh-ed and aah-ed about how pretty/cute they were, and put them back. I don't think that's what you wanna do!

Wow, hard choices. The rose gold sandals are very pretty. After that I would recommend focusing on fit, rather than appearance, because they are all nice.

Aha, I just realized why I'm uneasy about the ankle strap shoes! It's the blush-on-skin conundrum that a few of us have run into. Like Tanya's Loft sweater.

This blush-pink-peach blends with my skin, and the suede cloth upper doesn't have a texture that stands out. So when I just glance, it looks like I have weird triangular-pointed bare feet. The look from the side is nice, but it's the front that I don't quite get. They don't stand out as shoes. My round toe ankle strap flats have the same effect. (I'm okay with giving those away for a suitable replacement.)

The metallics don't do this. They stand out as shoes, not as an extension of my foot. I'd be thrilled with the ankle strap ones if they were in rose gold metallic.

Am I imagining things? It's quite possible!

Aaah, this is so hard!

Beth Ann, you're right on the silver ones. They're so bright they startled me when I saw them in the mirror. I'm pretty sure I'm between sizes, too.

You and Suz are so helpful. I really want to make the white ones work, but as white shoes, not neutral ones. I'll experiment with innersoles a bit and wear them some more. Maybe it just needs getting used to.

Suz, thank you for telling me not to be too swayed by everyone's opinions! But it's interesting that everyone has liked the ankle strap ones. I need to wear them around some more. I have red pumps in a similar design and fabric and they look awesome; maybe I'm distracted by the shiny?

But I do really feel the appeal of the mixed metallic, besides the shoe design. Yet, I had them on again this morning and they were feeling snug in the toe, like the silver ones. I definitely need to wear them again.

Ginger, these are all so pretty on you! I agree that the pointy toe is fabulous for your style.

I love the rose gold sandals on you. And those are keepers.

I also really like the white perforated, but if they won't stay on, that's an issue.

The ankle strap blush pair look super pretty but if you are not crazy about them, then don't be swayed too much by our opinions.

For my own style the rose gold with hearts might feel too cutesy, but I also get the appeal of them. A mixed metallic shoe could be really versatile and if they fit best, perhaps you should go for them!

Pretty shoes!

It sounds like the rose gold are a "shoe-in" -- glad to hear it, since they're lots of fun.

the White are lovely too, and I'm liking perforation this year -- and this makes non-leather workable, imho.

I also like the ankle strap blush pair -- although they need to fit well to work. They are quite elegant.

The heart toed flat? I think it's clever and sleek, rather than cutesy. It seems to suit your style, too!

Actually, the only shoe I"m not wild on is the silver snakeskin pointy-toed flat. It seems a bit "bossy" as if it's grabbing for attention, if that makes sense.

I can see that the ankle strap ones would split wears with your existing round toe ones, which are really lovely.

Hi JAileen, I had a similar experience with boots some time ago. They also never formed to my foot and never got comfortable. So I avoid non-leather boots. I've been okay with ballet and pump styles, however, and even some oxfords. My feet will sweat in plastic and leather and fabric alike - so weird, since I run cold!

Hmm, three votes for the d'orsays! This is very interesting and helpful.

I really like how the white ones look. I'm going to try to make them work, but as white flats, not neutral.

Smittie, I would like to keep only one pair besides the sandals. Maybe two, as long as they're not both pink. I don't want to split wears.

Jenn, the black ones with the cognac ankle strap are synthetic, and they haven't particularly bothered me. These will be mostly indoor (A/C) shoes, so I think it will be okay in this case. Synthetic mostly concerns me when it makes the longevity uncertain - some don't shape to the foot at all, some stretch well, and some stretch out too much.

They're all cute, but the polyurethane concerns me. I would not want to wear shoes made of that. I have some duck boots (knockoffs) with the rubber bottom and even with nice socks my feet get very clammy after awhile. How would you do with these shoes? I generally try to stick to leather for breathability.

It seems like you like a lot of shoe styles that are currently trending, so I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be picky about fit. You should definitely keep the sandals you love, and send back anything that doesn't fit right.

Do you have other synthetic ballet flats? I ask because I have one synthetic pair and they get kind of gross on hot days--smelly and sticky. That may not be an issue for you, but it bugs me enough that I won't buy closed synthetic shoes anymore. On that front, the ventilation on the white ones might help a lot.

For looks, my favorites are the blush ankle straps. They're really lovely. I'd try them myself if they weren't out of stock in my size.

I've discovered I love The Shiny. I must be part magpie. ;)

Hmm, tricky. I think the ones with hearts are the most comfortable. #7-9 feel weird because my foot rattles around in the toe. It's part of the style, but not a familiar feeling to me. The white are the softest, but almost too soft, and not snug at all. They may be best for a higher volume foot. I'm not sure a foam insert at the back will help; it'll be visible, and they are loose all around the foot.

My massive ASOS package arrived! (Sorry for the quality of the pictures - I cannot remember to dust the mirror until I'm in a time crunch.)

Last year I identified a need for summer shoes that were semi casual but work appropriate and went with just about everything. I got two pair: round-toe ankle strap shoes (pictures #1-2), and ballet flats with pink metallic toes (pictures #3-4).

I really really like pointy toes. With my full skirts, they look grown up instead of cutesy or little girl-ish. And it's important to me that even with neutral, basic shoes, they need to be fun.

#5-6
First, rose gold sandals I'm definitely keeping. This is my favorite style of casual summer sandal. Amazingly, the straps on the vamp are snug on my low volume foot, so hopefully they'll be wearable for a long time as they stretch. I love the ankle strap detailing. I wish the sole had some padding, but I'm used to that for this style.

#7-9: Blush suede cloth closed toe
These aren't my favorites, though I'm not sure why. I think it's just not my favorite style. I'd prefer an actual d'orsay heel with a closed toe, maybe. Anyway, they work pretty well, although they feel loose in the toe. The sole is comfortable.

#10-12: Silver snakeskin pointy ballet flats
I'm going all in for rose gold, but I like silver as well. The fit on these is problematic; the first size (pics 10-11) looks good, but it's tight on my blunt toes. The next size up (pic 12) has length, but I'd need to add an inner sole. I do that with lots of shoes, but it gets old.

#13-16: White perforated pointy ballet flats
These are so pretty, and there was no sizing issue. They felt kind of loose all over, though. The sides gap a bit and the heel seems low. It slips off fairly easily. In #16 I tried to show how they looked just when standing. I really should only keep one pair, but these are so dainty and summery despite the questionable fit. And I could use white flats in addition to white heels.

#17-20: Blush metallic with silver vamp pointy flats
That silver bit? Actually a heart. Pushing the "cutesy" envelope? Or like a two-tone loafer? The fit is wonderful. No length issues, and the vamp all around is much higher and even curves in over my foot. I may need to develop a slight callus higher on my heel! These were almost the last pair I picked out, but they've been growing on me steadily.

Opinions? Comments? I would like to be reasonably on-trend, but something that's not too dated too quickly. These are not expensive shoes, but I have 8 year old Payless shoes still in rotation. If I like them and they're still fixable, I'll wear them. :)
