I like Frye because I know them. I have the calf height Carson in 2 colors, but the Sam Edelman one Angie has in the store has a lower & more fitted looking top opening & a higher heel. All of which may look better than these. I do love Frye though.

Cute but definitely not elf-like. It doesn't matter how much I love them on you - trust your own instincts - if you don't feel great in them don't keep them.

I'm almost convinced to keep the booties. I'm just not sure if my skinny legs need a more fitted at the ankle style bootie. Do I look like an elf in them ?

Love all these looks on you. I think the patterned scarves look great because they don't "read" red like a solid would.

I LOVE those boots on you! Absolutely keep- no doubt about it!
I prefer them with a scarf that doesn't have too much red in it, like the ones in 6 or 7, and with a bag in a color other than red, so they don't compete with the boots.

I don't know how old you are, to tell you whether puffed sleeves are too young, but in general I think that if you are in doubt maybe they are. Puffed sleeves are never a sophisticated look, if that's what you're going for.

I think you look good in scarves, but you've got to FEEL comfortable, and if you don't then I wouldn't wear them.

Can't wait to see all the fab outfits you're going to put together with those boots!

Texstyle I like the look of scarves in summer as they add a 3rd piece or pop of color but I get headaches in the heat, especially if the back of my neck is hot. I've only started to wear them recently since being on YLF & trying to get more style but I have gotten a few headaches. I also don't think scarves look good on me. It must be my rectangular face as I have a longish neck. I wear them in the winter for warmth but it looks bad & matts my hair at the back. I don't know how to wear necklaces though & don't think they provide the color needed a lot of the time. Perhaps I will have to use bags as my color pop, 3rd piece. We don't always carry them though. They get put on a seat or something.

Yes I'd have to agree with you Texstyle & Crystal. Angie did it with the spice/cognac colored scarf-bag-bootie complement but I guess those aren't as bright, they are more of a neutral. The red does look too much.

Keep the booties - if they are comfortable they look great! I think I agree that the scarf, bag and booties all in red is too much red. #7 looks perfect! I don't personally like scarves worn with shorts and summer clothing but many people pull off this look so I'll defer to others for that. I think the red booties are the statement piece so just a touch of red such as in the scarf or in a patterned top would be best. I'd use the red handbag with other color booties/shoes.

Definitely keep!!! LOVE the outfit in picture 7!!! And though the other ones are great, I'd try pairing it with a pop of another colour instead of all red accents... like maybe a scarf with mostly aqua/teal or even purple. Not so matchy matchy

Keep, keep, keep! You should ALWAYS keep red booties. I have a pair of red Frye ankle boots and I wear them all the time. Also, I tried on the exact same pair you have (in a different color) and found them amazingly comfortable.

They look great in every outfit you've posted.

Hi ladies,

My main question is whether to keep or return these booties. I don't need them but I don't have much color in footwear. I mostly have black & various brown boots & shoes, a red sneaker & white & animal print shoes too but all my boots are black, some form of brown & animal skin. I find that red goes with a lot so I don't need to shop to find things to wear with these booties but it isn't exactly a wardrobe hole, & I do have other wardrobe holes. I did get these on sale for about $208 with tax. That is nearly half price on these. I currently have a flat & a couple of high heeled black booties, one of which are 2 hour standing shoes.

It is a lot to ask so thanks in advance for your time & wisdom:)
My other questions are:-

Opinions on scarves & bags
Should I ditch the puffed sleeve white shirt (too young)?
Do any of these outfits look good?
How do you think I should style these booties?
Do I look like Robin Hood with leggings & booties?
Are scarves not for me? I look like I'm wearing a neck brace when I wear them. I have a longish neck but there is something wrong looking when I wear turtle necks or scarves etc.

ETA: Do they gape too much? Should I get closer fitting around the ankle style booties?
Is red repeated 3 times too much in one outfit?
