They are loose in the thighs as they fall straight from the hip. I usually think of flare jeans as fitted at the thigh but there must be lots of variations. The important thing is how they fit you and how you feel wearing them. I would say in this case it would be all about the fit, so it's hard to tell from the pic. I'm a fan of widelegs and flares and trousers, and I'm very happy that the trend is back. Having said this, I agree that they do look looser in the thighs than what I'd expect or want, at least for myself. Leaner thighs are more elongating. These ones are a bit on the quirky/vintagey side to my eyes. </p> <p>But then again, it's all about the fit!
