I really appreciate everyone taking the time to post! I am going to try styling the tricky items (plaid shirt, animal print shirt) a few ways before making my final decision. I was on the fence about the white coat but you all cleared that one up! I am wearing it today actually and feeling fab!

@ Jem I dabble in sewing, but want to get better. My sister is fantastic (she made my wedding dress!) so she usually gives me pointers over the phone since we live in different states.

@ Meredith this wasnt from a fancy consignment place... believe it or not it is the nearest goodwill! i have only been thrift shopping about 4 times so i am still working on my strategy but do think i am getting pretty lucky because every time i find good things and usually in the same category as i was looking for. Regrettably, the belt was not a thrift find, i ordered it from j crew last week and spent more on it than on everything else pictured combined!

All the pieces are lovely and seem to fit you very well! I think Angie is right about #1, #3, #5, #6 and #9 being the star pieces but they are all nice! The belt is darling too. What a great score. I know I've said it before but I'm so sad there don't seem to be any really nice consignment stores near me.

Great finds! I like the fit of all of them--you did well! My favorites are the white jacket and the pencil skirt, which I think would look fab together, too! The white jacket is so fresh and the pencil skirt is super flattering on you.

My word, that's some haul. I'd be pleased as Punch *and* Judy!

Especially love how lovely the colours of #3 look on you, and the zipper is really an easy fix the the so-smart #9 --- you might even be able to find a spare zipper in your own discards or get something really cheap at the thrift store with an intact zipper you can use. Also, check if the zipper can be actually fixed (realigned or waxed, if that's all it takes) before you replace.

The only item that is less than great on you is #5, but you knew that and I'm sure you're planning to add colour near your face in other ways when using it.

And all such versatile items too, including the fun accessories. You're so lucky to live where you do!

Great stuff! I had the same reaction to the color in 4 although the fit is great and maybe with some color at the neck? Don't love the style of 5 but do love the skirt.

You got all of that at the thrift store?!? Wow, that was a great haul! I actually like everything! I agree about the color of #4, but will probably be useful as a layering piece. Or add a pink scarf or something else trendy. #7 doesn't stand out to me either, but will useful for the ideas you have come up with. It's not amazing on it's own, but that's OK. I really like the pencil skirt, too, but I don't know how much a zipper replacement would be. I like the idea of asking for a discount? Can you sew at all? Sewing down the pockets is a super easy job. The zipper isn't as much, but I don't know how much that costs for someone to do. You got a bunch of great things, though!!

Wow what a great haul! You must have a really good thrift store nearby. I like all the items you got. I agree that #4 probably isn't your best colour but I like your idea of using it for a bit of animal print. The skirt in #8-9 is a super fit and great look on you. Would it be worth asking for a discount given that the zip is broken?

*EDIT* I just realized how long this is... Is it too much to ask/post? Thanks
~~~~~~~~
I had a chance to do a bit of thrifting this morning, i had quite a haul but it's amazing how in reviewing the photos i have already put four items in for return. I am trying to find items that fit closer to my body since many of my things are a bit baggy currently.
Here we go:
#1 No brand tag found, Black denim blazer, comfy, will maybe move the button over a smidge
#2 LOFT Blue demin short sleeve blazer. I love this... not going back but thought i would post anyway.
#3 NY & Co Faux Wrap shirt, purples, blues, greens
#4 Susan Lawrence v neck shirt, mini animal print, i am not sure this is a great color on me but i like the idea of using the animal print for pattern mixing
#5 Limited shirt, black and white stripe. perhaps it need the lower 2 inches taken in a bit but the fit through the should and bust is pleasing to me
#6 Gap Short Trench, collar needs ironing
#7 Liz Claiborne button down... i was imagining this as a little pattern peeking out below a jacket or sweater or pattern mixed with a bright floral scarf, the fabric has a wonderful hand
#8&9 Pencil skirt Grace Elements brand, unlined & zipper needs replacing in addition to pockets being sewn down (i hadnt noticed the zipper at the store) i think it looks great but i am not thinking it is worth the replacement cost.
#10 accessories (cant be returned)
Feedback is greatly appreciated!
