Definitely a keeper, and of course column of darks is always great but I esp. like it with the faded jeans!

It's a keeper. The colour is gorgeous.

As for the fit when buttoned, most of my blazers do that, it's a consequence of the E-cup. If it's cut well elsewhere it usually fails gracefully. I do sometimes button my blazers, but I guess I must be weird like that

Gorgeous colour on you. It is a very versatile jacket. I also don't wear blazers with long sleeves underneath. I don't like the feeling of all those layers.

Glad you're keeping the blazer! On me, the Uniqlo skirt pulled a bit at the pockets. At $10 it was tempting, but I passed. Great deals!

Thanks, everyone. I'm glad the back thing doesn't seem like a big deal. I checked and I think most of my woven blazers do this a little bit. I suspect it's because the armholes are too long, but that's not a thing I can fix (sleeves on petites are generally too short).

Peace chick, I agree about the light jeans and will wear this with darker ones for sure. (Although they're not quite so light irl - had to overexposed photos to see the jacket better).

Suz, good point about it easing up.

Karie, you're prob right that it's pointless to move the button. Honestly I feel like one button blazers never look right on me closed anyway due to my short waist (which is why my boring black suit blazer is 2 button).

The 8 is a keeper. I wouldn't bother moving the button since you'll probably never wear it buttoned. I don't see any pulling on the upper back, but if it's still there after you snip the threads on the vent you could take it to a tailor and see if they can do something about it. It probably wouldn't bother me to just leave it alone, though. I think it works with all of the tops you've tried here, but like you, I prefer to wear my blazers with shells or tee shirts underneath.

It looks good! The color is gorgeous on you, and the blazer does look nicely tailored, i.e., the look you're going for. I really like it over the black column in 1, which at first glance appeared to be a sheath dress. It's nice that this blazer looks equally good with pants or a dress/skirt.

The 8 is the right size. The colour is gorgeous. I think as long as it is comfortable for the tops you would want to wear with it 80-90 percent of the time I would go for it.

The colour is so gorgeous on you. I'm inclined to think that if there is any stretch in the fabric at all, it will ease up a bit (especially when you snip the vent open). If it doesn't bother you, the pulling isn't a deal breaker.

I really like this eggplant color on you! The 8 is a great fit, the 10 is too big for sure. I love it with your new skirt, and I also like your casual styling with floral tops, but I don't love it with the light jeans (might be just me, I don't like high contrast). The same tops with dark jeans will be thumbs up from me!

I got this blazer in a couple of weeks ago but have been too busy to properly style it and make a decision until now. If you'll remember, I was initially undecided about whether to get the size 8 or size 10. I've decided the 10 is too big in the arms, shoulders, and bust so I'm either keeping the 8 or nothing at all. I don't want an oversized-looking blazer, I want a tailored-looking one. The 8 looks slightly tight when buttoned but like many people mentioned, nobody ever buttons their blazers, least of all me, so it's not an issue. ;) The 10 is the one in the last photo just for reference, everything else is the 8.

I've styled it with a few different types of tops (note: these are not necessarily entire outfits that I'd actually wear, I was more interested in seeing how it would work with different TYPES of tops.) I took back photos of all of them because the fit in the upper arm and back is what I'm most interested in. It feels ever so slightly tight in the upper arm with the long sleeved layers, but not constrictingly so. You can see that there's some slight weird pulling at the upper back from the armpit diagonally upward. I believe this is exaggerated in the photos because ironically I am standing up straighter than I do IRL (hence pushing my shoulders back) and because I had to significantly bump the exposure on the photos to see any detail. Also, the vent at the bottom is not cut open yet, and I don't know whether that would release some of the pulling as well. I guess my biggest question is whether or not you think that creasing at the upper back is a dealbreaker.

Photos:
1-4: with a black medium weight shell. This is probably how I'd be most likely to wear it as I generally prefer to wear blazers over sleeveless or short sleeved tops.

5-8: with a thin, long-sleeved buttondown shirt. I didn't realize the front was crooked until I saw the pictures, so please excuse that. This felt fine except for the bunchy feeling I always get with long, loose sleeves under jackets (not a tight bunchy feeling, just an excess fabric feeling).

9-12: with a lightweight long sleeved sweater. This is probably the heaviest thing I would ever wear under it. It felt slightly tight in the upper arm but didn't hamper mobility. #10 is with it buttoned just for kicks, but I do think it looks too tight that way. (Someone on my previous thread suggested moving the button slightly, which I may try if I decide to keep it.)

13: size 10 for reference.

By the way, the skirt in the first set is also new, I added the find below.
Uniqlo calls it a "sweat skirt" but it actually surprisingly turned out
to be more like a pencilly tube skirt. (I was actually looking for a
more casual one as a replacement for an old skirt, but it was cheap and
will be useful.)
