A fab skirt, pls keep! And, I like all the jackets to it, no help I know, they all can work well for different purposes. I would like the denim jackets better worn open- but if you are comfortable all buttoned up, then no reason to not love burberry style:-)

tulle-i love the idea of a suede skirt with denim jacket as a shirt. could love to see it if you'd be willing to post.
deborah- thanks for the pinterest board, lots of great ideas---dressy sweatshirt, love that idea and totally in my zone. and i need to keep by eye open for a short/cropped sweater.
marina-yes i can definitely wear it with the denim jacket open. i do have a shorted blazer i can try it with--may not be short enough, but its worth a try. thanks for the idea.

I think I prefer a denim jacket open and the black blazer closed (cropped around your hipbone and with a more defined waist structure) :)

I would also try your skirt and red belt with a black top - maybe a fitted top w/ a V neck or boat neck and cap sleeves?

The skirt is beautiful. I like it with the first denim jacket best. Lovely proportions. It would also work with a more cropped blazer. What a about a cropped lightweight dressy sweatshirt? Tucked in fitted tshirt. Short sleeved white button down (tucked)/

Some good inspiration here: https://www.pinterest.com/sear.....ll%20skirt

First, I'd say that the skirt with the belt and blazer is a lovely look for you--and in your comfort zone, as you pointed out. Nothing wrong with that! But if you really want to go for the Burberry look Angie wrote about, my vote is with the Topshop jacket because it has the tapered fit that makes this combo work. I'm grateful to you for testing these jackets, by the way. I, too, was intrigued by Angie's post, because I have a beautiful chocolate suede skirt with a little ruffle over the kneecap that I've had trouble pairing with a top other than sweaters. It occurred to me that this denim jacket look could solve my problem, but I have no denim jacket! Now I have some idea of where to look. Thanks!

Ditto with what Sveta said. Prefer shorter denim jackets here - in 3-5 and also the coated one. Shiny buttons distracting in first. Nicely done!

Lisap, sorry about the camera angle, my full-length mirror is out of commission (someone's having 7 years of bad luck) and I'm experimenting with other picture methods/spots. I agree, the blazer versions not the most current ,but don't want this skirt to be a one trick pony, so I'm trying other ways to style it. Any suggestions?

I've had to look at this a couple of times to figure out what's going on here. I think the camera angle is fooling the eye too and creating a bit of a disproportionate view of the outfit. Anyways, I think I like the denim jacket in pics 1 and 2 the best in terms of recreating the Burberry look. The other denim jacket is cute, but is looking a tad on the tight/small side and not in balance with the skirt. The blazer provides a whole other look, and one that seems slightly less current to me.

rachylou- #6 is the coated jacket from BR. #1/2 is the Topshop jacket, #3,4,5 is the Mavi jacket. i think i look the most comfortable in the the last picture, with the blazer, because that's sort of my fall back, when in doubt, throw a blazer on over a tee.

merwoman & sveta, glad you like the skirt, as I've said, its been a while since I've bought one, so its good to know that this one works.

It's hard for me to tell from the pics - are you modeling two different Jean jackets or three? Also, it would help to see full length including your shoes - I like the skirt on you a lot but it might want to be just a tad shorter, but again it's hard to tell without seeing your feet.

The skirt is cool! I find that the bold pattern in a full skirt is A LOT of skirt and it requires a very simple support act,
I like it with the shorter denim jackets here - in 3-5 and also the coated one. The first jacket is nice but somehow I find the shiny buttons distracting. It is also more boxy so you should be OK with it (however it is short enough for the boxiness to work with the skirt).

when Angie posted this, i knew i wanted to try it. only a couple of issues….1st, i don't own a skirt that i thought would work, in fact, i haven't bought a skirt in 2 or 3 years. 2nd, my denim jacket was definitely more jacket and too oversized for this look. so this K/R is for both……

does this work as styled? does one of the denim jacket work better? how else would you style this skirt? does it work with the blazer (i'd wear a different knit shirt)? if you don't think this skirt works, why?

as always, all comments/suggestions are appreciated and welcomed.
