I really like you in camel pants, Thistle! K is right. Try a camel pair with a front fly and more structure. Please don't give up on camel pants just yet!

And your smile is so wonderful. It makes me smile, so I'm thanking you for that.

NOOOOOOOO! The camel looks nice on you--it's the lack of structure in the trouser that makes them not work as well as the dark brown. Camel is a challenging color. Lighter bottoms need more structure than dark bottoms because light doesn't sink into them. And camel is truly the worst. Try another different light color, like light grey, and you'll see. Don't ban light colors!

Also, I get what you are saying about the pants. I think you are thinking of the term "cigarette waisted," which is a higher waist usually on a wider legged trouser, versus cigarette pants, which are very slim.

Maybe I got my pant types mixed up. They have a wider leg, which I need, but they come up higher.

Anyway, they are both the same pants, just different colors. These illustrate the reason I tend not tomwear light colors on the botto!

I like the dark brown, but I agree (yes, I am a mimic apparently) that it is always worthwhile to own a pair of tan or camel trousers. They are BY FAR the most difficult thing to purchase for me though.

Camel colored trousers can be brutally honest and brutally dishonest. Most of them show every lump and bump that you have. Most of them even create additional lumps and bumps that you don't have, for which I will never forgive them. However, if you find the right ones, they look fabulous and timeless. I've found that a lined heavier wool gabardine fabric is best for me. The lining gives it structure and acts as a shield between me and the pants, deflecting and diminishing some of their ego crushing bump-and-lumpifying powers. Honestly, the last pair that I bought took me three years to find. Three. I am not kidding. So, very worth finding, but likely to take some real effort.

These look like wide pants to me, Thistle. Not cigarette.

The black fits better - are they the same trousers in the same size but different colours? I love the black! But a caramel pair of trousers is a good idea.

I tried out two pairs of cigarette pants. One in a dark brown, which is a normal color for me.The second pair is in a caramel color, which is usually much too light for me to wear on the bottom. Still, thought I would give it a try as I like the way the color pairs with some of my tops..
