I like the denim capris at the shorter length. The yoga stuff looks fine for wearing around the house but is maybe a little too much like lounge wear to wear out and about. I love the green anthro top, the orange maxi skirt and the black hat. The jeggings are great also - I searched for a pair all last winter and never found a pair that worked. The shorts in the last few pictures are hard for me to imagine styled for some reason. I must not be creative enough.

If I were to pick out only "perfect" items, I would keep the capris (rolled up), the turquoise top and the Anthro top. I think the yoga pants, hoodie, black hat, and shorts from Anthro would be close seconds for me (meaning "keep if you feel that they fill big holes in your casual wardrobe").

I love the entire first outfit with the turquoise tee and denim crops. Fab! The maxi skirt, green top, and hat are also great. And I love the blackbird shorts but I am super biased because I own them too! Stalked them for weeks until they went on sale, and in fact am wearing them right now! Fwiw, I like them best with tucked tops, although I actually had a wardrobe malfunction with my blouse that resulted in my turning it into a tie front rather than tucked style, which works too! Am on bus back from NYC now but will post my wiw when I get home!

The jeggings are nice too but they definitely read as more legging than jeans. So I would only wear with butt covering tops. It's up to you whether you think that's worth the price.

Not sure the yoga pants seem like you... Although the top part of the outfit would be cute with jeans for a casual look.

denim shorts

1-6. Love these! Must keep!
7-9. These are great, too. I think denim leggings are a must - so comfy for kicking around with the kids (yes, even the older one I am married to).
10-12. Love this color on you - reminds me of my orchid trench!
16-18. LOVE - KEEP!
19. Target black hat (since DH hates my shorter brimmed black hat and Angie dubbed me Queen 70's hat)--was only $15!
20-22. Cute! - I thought this was a skirt at first, which makes it even cuter. I can see these with a structured, woven tank and sandals. :)

The yoga pants... I don't really like those, nor do I like the idea of wearing them for Yoga Mom. You said you don't go to the gym or do yoga, so it seems like you would not be being true to yourself. I think the purple jacket over some denim would be casual and sporty enough without seeming like something disingenuous.

Natalie: I'm with Jonesy and Angie on my faves.

The first tee, and the combo of the orange tee and leggings, seem to elongate your torso and shorten your lower half. The Anthro top, even though it's longer, adds a little volume, and seems to be a more balanced proportion. My MOTG capsule has more woven tops this year for this same reason. Most of mine don't need pressing at all.

What about dolman sleeved or soft, but slightly boxy tops for the shorts? I'm searching desperately for these myself!

My 2 cents: I love the denim shorts (rolled up), the turquoise top and the anthro top!

The t-shirts are fine as layering items; a t is a t, right?

I'd wear the denim leggings only as leggings, not as pants. So under tunics or dresses.

And 10-12 is fine for lounge wear, although I'm not fond of the hoodie for some reason (too shapeless?).

Oh yes, She's The Birthday Girl, too! happy Birthday, GP!
I love the turquoise t- gorgeous, and the pant looks fab in the shorter length-crickle orange maxi also fab, but would pair it with a fitted, and shorter more skin revealing top(say, a tank, neckholder or spagetti straps).

Hi Birthday Girl! I love the turquoise t- gorgeous, and the pant looks fab in the shorter length.
The Yoga pant looks similar to the one I wear, and although probably should remain leisure wear only, is a stylish example of such.
Love the green and white blouse!
The plain orange tee is a nice colour on you and will look great when styled, as will the maxi skirt.
Not sure either about the black/white shorts. Possibly will be fab with the right styling. Maybe a more structured top to balance the slouch-factor and heels?
Everything you model looks good! I hope you have a great day!

Hi! I'm working on rounding out my MOTG wardrobe. I'm pretty set for work clothes, but I'm looking for more true casual clothes that are still colorful and still "me". What do you think of these items--keep or return? Sorry there's so many items--they were either mostly on sale or cheap Target stuff, but I'd like to analyze them just like you do for my work clothes--I have a lot to learn about casual dressing too! And can I just say, this stretchy stuff is sooo comfy! Ahhh! But only as long as it's still stylish though! Thanks for your help!

1-6. Mavi denim capris--rolled up to the knee in 1-3 and original length in 4-6 (which length is better?). I don't have any denim shorts--the Old Navy ones felt too cheap and the J brand ones were too expensive so are these a good mid-range option? I just can't get into the baggy boyfriend jeans mindset, so let's just call these girlfriend jeans! ;)
1-6. Target turquoise side-wrap T
7-9. AG skinny denim leggings--these are soo soft and comfy! Do the skinny leggings look good or should I stick with thicker/stiffer skinny or straight jeans? These are full price so they have to be a 10 (they feel like a 10 on, but how do they look on me?). In case you can't tell, they are dark blue, not black.
7-9. Target neon orange V neck tee (I wouldn't typically wear them with the skinny leggings so judge them separately)
10-12. Target black yoga pants
10-12. Target purple print scoop neck tee
10-12. Target purple stretch jersey jacket
(So I can make friends with Yoga Pants Mom, LOL! Seriously though--is this outfit appropriate for MOTG, or is it strictly loungewear?)
13-15. Nordstrom orange crinkle maxi skirt--I don't have any maxi skirts or dresses and have been wanting to get one!
13-15. Target white V neck T (again, not necessarily styled as an outfit, unless I throw a denim jacket over it)
16-18. Anthro Maeve green & white blouse--on sale
19. Target black hat (since DH hates my shorter brimmed black hat and Angie dubbed me Queen 70's hat)--was only $15!
20-22. Anthro blackbird shorts--also on sale. I'm a little unsure about how these look on me. They are kind of like skorts and have a comfy elastic waist. I could wear them with the hat in #19, haha!
