Unfrumped, I don't yet have a "best" look to speak of and am really struggling with what is. I typically wear jeans with a knit top or shirt and maybe a pullover sweater or boxy cardigan. I've joined this forum hoping to improve my look and wardrobe as in the past it hasn't been a priority because I always felt that nothing really looked very good - so what did it matter? I love seeing members' photos and have been inspired, but am still lost. I've received helpful information from many members but haven't been able to figure out how to connect the dots.

Congratulations on trying on a new style to see how it fits your style goals! No other way to make progress.

I like the teal--it's a perfect color-wheel opposite or whatever for red hair. The yellow competes with your red-head coloring without really bringing it out. I'm sure you could wear that color in some other item, such as accessories, to have some fun.

I like the styling in # 4, too, The cardigan is drapey so in #4 you have a fitted top and then the trouser jean look going on. In #2, the unfitted blouse and sweater together hide your shape.

To really know where this might fit in your wardrobe, you'd have to compare it to what you think are some of your best looks and whether this takes you where you want to go.

What jayne said may be true if you have other nipped-waist cardi's that look better--though to me, pears (I'm one) aren't always best served by having toppers stop at the waist. It depends on the line of the trouser, and fit in the seat (I can't always be satisfied with Team Front if my backside looks awful ) and color and a lot of other things. I intentionally want some of my jackets to fall lowish-hip but then usually need slim fit with a waist structure.

Glad to know that the mustard seems to work too. I'm still not sure about length - food for thought from Jayne and Julie - so they'll probably go back. I wish I could find something I loooove.

I like both colors on you, and I think the length is ok too. It draws my eyes to your hips, which you probably don't like to hear, but it also creates a long line that looks very flattering. Just a newbie's two cents.

hmmm, I am a bit of a pear (or hippy hourglass) and I see myself here. And I am not happy with the length of the cardi, nope, not at all. We need a cardi that comes and skims us at the waist and ends at just about the top of the hip, not the top of the thigh. even though the soft line doesn't act like a horizontal at our widest bit, it still draws the eye there. So I think these are return, even though I love the colors. Try something a bit shorter. (sorry I am a spanner)

I can't tell the difference between petite and regular either. I do like the sleeves pushed up - and for my eyes I prefer the mustard colour on you - but teal is good too. Just depends what elese is in your wardrobe. LOVE your h/t blouse! - and sucha great pairing...you could probably put the teal with it as well...

i like both of them although the light may make a diference in the yellow color.
Can't tell the diference between petite and regular size on the blue one.

I added another pic of the teal but don't think it is much better. I'm not averse to keeping both.

Brenda, the petite sizes were ordered on line and didn't take long at all to get here.

I like both colors on you. It's hard for me to tell on sizing since I can't a lot of detail on the teal one.

And Target has petites?? I'm a little excited to hear about that.

Thanks Alaskagirl and merwoman. Do you think the style of the cardigan is ok on me? I'm still such a slug compared to everyone else here.

Yellow all the way! Love both 1 and 2 - but then I am twam high contrast. The yellow just brightens you up.

twam = team (in a hurry)

I'm having a hard time with judging the first color, because the lighting does make a difference. The seond color looks great. Hmmm, maybe that's telling in itself - a color should look good even in bad lighting, right? I don't see much difference in the fit, but the second (teal?) seems sleeker, maybe becaause it's dark?

With fall on the way, I picked up a couple of cardigans at Target the other day. They are a style I have never worn, so I'm not sure if the length is right or if I should keep one color over the other. I don't think I've had anything yellow in my wardrobe since my 7th grade lemon colored elephant pants and matching yellow elastic ribbed t-shirt!

I'm having an awful time lately with lighting for my pictures so I hope these are sufficient. Also, I left my face in the picture to help with color evaluation.

Pics #1 and #2(my schoolbus imitation) are in a petite size which is about 1 inch shorter in sleeve and overall length. Pic #3 is the regular size. I am now realizing the sleeves should be pushed up.

I'm having a hard time seeing much of a difference lengthwise except that the bottom of the yellow is more pronounced because of the brightness of the color. Do they end in an appropriate spot on me?

What do you think of the yellow/mustard/ochre? My hair is not always highlighted like it is now if that makes a difference. Thanks!
