Both look good. The shine of the shoe somehow offsets the width to my eye.

Im so glad you decided to keep the boots! I sympathize with your foot problems;I have them too. My feet rule my fashion world:( I'm finding my ankle boots a little problematic and have found rolling the hem of skinny jeans to expose just a little skin helps make them work. I'm anxious to try this method I found on Unfancy showing you how to wear ankle boots with socks..

http://www.un-fancy.com/fall-o.....ith-socks/

Great looking jeans, BTW. Love that color!

I don't mind the wider front on these boots because they're not a true flower pot shape, i.e. from the side you can see that they actually come close to your ankle. So I think it's obvious that the wider front is a design feature and not a poor fit, if that makes sense. I might be annoyed by the pants catching in front though, so if I were you I'd experiment a bit with the pants you want to wear with them, walk around, etc.

Jeans look great. As long as it's not too tight/pinchy, I don't mind a little muffin top especially on skinnies because I never, ever show my waistband in skinnies anyway. So as long as it's comfy, I don't care.

I am on the lookout for a pair of basic black booties to replace mine that are in their 4th season and getting wobbly. I collected these because Borns are comfortable and I like the durable lug sole. Anyway, I think they look good. I do not mind "flower pot" effect as I think it draws the eye to one's ankles. These end right at a point where your ankle curves nicely so I like the way they look. I am torn on the topic of the jeans. Lately I've been buying skinnies in the size I should which means there's almost always some muffin top. The benefit is the jeans don't slide down. The negative is, I find myself wanting to unbutton the top button. I think I'm ending up wanting to have skinny jeans in a couple of size options.

I have these boots, and I have some of the same concerns, so I only wear them with jeans. I get compliments all the time on them, especially from sales associates!

Elle, i would think twice about keeping the shoe if the part in the front catches on clothing or if you dont like how the front bit looks. You will notice that one thing everytime you wear the booties and may wind up not wearing them.

Thanks ladies. I think I will keep the boots due to the fact that I have tried sooo many of the black booties available & haven't found comfort. Style wise I would prefer a refined chelsea, beatle or the SE Petty but haven't found any that are comfortable. These aren't as pointy & the soles are a thin lug with a welt around the boot. This all makes them a bigger less refined boot. Oh well. I will keep the jeans too thanks.

I like the boots too, and don't mind the wider front view. Send them back if that part doesn't tickle your fancy though.

Take no notice of the size and wearing them at a lower or higher weight because sizes are extremely inconsistant these days. These jeans look great. Keep and enjoy. xo

I like the boots and know how hard it is to find comfort What I do with booties and skinnies is cuff up the pant leg so that you see a bit of ankle which is hard to do in the winter, have yet to try wearing a nude sock for warmth.
Love the pants!

I'm not wild about that wide vamp on the front view either. It looks OK with pants/jeans, but I don't think I'd like that look with skirts or dresses. If you want a bootie to wear in all those situations, I think there are some better ones out there for you.

The jeans look fantastic on you (jealous!) but they definitely look like they have a traditional skinny fit. My coated jeans (AG) don't stretch out at all. It depends on the look you want. I would try wearing them around the house for a while to see if the fit eases up more.

Are the boots too flower pot like? They have a wide part on the vamp that I'm not sure I like from the front view, which also catches on different jeans & pants, depending on length & hem width, but they are very comfortable for my fussy feet. They also seem too clunky for my skinny legs. Are they OK with black socks (shown on 1 foot in 1, 2 & 3) to improve the flower pot look when worn with shorts or dresses? I have trouble finding comfortable shoes & these are the most comfortable black leather booties I have found so far.

Are the jeans OK? They give me muffin top even though they are the size of my relaxed skinnies. I wore this size when I was 30 pounds heavier but bought this size for a more relaxed look but coated fabric is maybe too stiff to relax. I also tried the smaller size & even they didn't feel too small, except for the waistband. Are these just wrong? As long as I don't expose my waist are they OK? Also are skinnies ok to be buying when it's the only jeans silouhette I own? I bought them to replace a black coated pair that have been a great dressier option for me when I still want to wear jeans. The black was great with some of my outfits & it won't be the same but might just work.
