I love it! Angie is right, get the XS. It might stretch out a bit and you'll be so glad. Love the seaming detail and agree that you are magnificent in sheath dresses!

I haven't read all the reviews, but I love this dress and I love the smaller (XS) size. I hope you're keeping it for its lovely shape and color. If it had long or three-quarter sleeves, I'd buy one in a second. Plus, it looks like the kind of dress that will pack well, too.

I prefer it in the XS.

Suz, let's face it: you look stunning in a sheath dress. You need more of them. This wouldn't replace your black one, but would serve as an exploratory field. And I'm sure you would end up bringing its CPW down quite a bit. The argument that you already have a navy skirt only serves the purpose to say: go for it, because 1) this is not a skirt 2) you already have jewellery and accessories to match blue.

Now about the folding and travelling issue: Do you absolutely need to travel with this particular one? Does it have to fit that criteria at all costs? and if you did, rolling the item with a plastic sheet (i.e. like what you get from the cleaners) greatly minimize wrinkles.

Then on the casual issue: are you crazy? No, it is not too casual. It all depends what you style it with and especially the footwear. A lower vamp would make it less casual. Have you tried it with heeled knee high boots?

Even if I did not a basic like this (that looks so good) would have a place in my closet for sure. Yes those of us 5'8" would not appreciate this length AT ALL.

One thing I've learned from YLF is the importance of good fit. Sometimes I hesitate to go down a size, but in many cases it makes all the difference.

You look great in sleeveless dresses, and this one can go with a host of toppers and colors for different looks and seasons, and does have the "LBD" qualities of dressing up or down. It does look "easy," so if you are going for an expanded dress capsule, I think this would be very useful. Length is so good and so hard to find.

I can't tell about the sizing as well as I'd like, so would view from all angles, decide about what undergarments you will or won't use, and how they work with the weight of the fabric. It it's too baggy, it won't be what you want in a sheath dress. Or, if it's worth investing more $$, consider whether the Small has advantages with some alterations to nip and tuck. I am so often torn between 2 sizes for just those reasons, and I end up going back and forth for hours until my head explodes.

Ah - CF - why did you decide against it? Interesting!

The hip seam doesn't bother me at all. It's a bit sporty looking but it's not super noticeable.

I would wear with and without hose. WITH hose it needs a slip or the hose would cling like crazy. I do have one.

Would I want it at its full price? No. That is a good point. But I don't always agree with those who say that if you wouldn't buy it at full price you shouldn't buy it. Sometimes a piece is good value for the money. And you can appreciate in for what it offers. In this case I think I was looking for one thing, and found something else that isn't quite the same thing, but might be a small good thing in its own way.

The knit is fairly tight and fine, Mona. In front it is a flat knit and in back it is ribbed like a sweater.

Very interesting! You look so fab in a sheath, I'm jelaous:) My first hunch is to vote for XS, because you have a beautiful shape and it might also stretch out a bit, like you said. I worry that S could end up too baggy if it grows a little. I like this one a lot! It might be just what you need for your smart casual wear. It looks dressy enough for theater and dinner, it's all about how you style it (stating the obvious here).

This is a great color and style on you. I am not sure about sizing. XS looks a bit too clingy, especially for your style. (It might be better with tights, though - is this a dress that would be mainly worn with tights?) S is better, but it looks too big through the waist, especially from the back.

From what you say, you don't think this dress is a 10 (you wouldn't consider buying it if it were at the top end of your price range, right)? I agree. But in the interests of full disclosure, I should say that I tried this dress on and decided against it.

Do you like the low waist (the horizontal line of ribbing or whatever, over the hips)? Does it work for layering?
