Yes! Try sewing in some shoulder pads. That might help a lot. The Nic & Zoe jacket is a great color on you and would be nice to have in the warmer months.

I'm not so crazy about the fit of the second one. It looks a little too snug to me.

Thanks! It's interesting to see the wide range of opinions here on the turquoise blazer! Some people love it, and some think it's too droopy... I do think that it is a little bit droopy under the arms in the bust area (because I am short waisted and slopey shouldered), but lifting the shoulder would fix this, so I think I am going to see if I can find some small shoulder pads to sew in.

Rae, it's from Nordie's so I can technically return it no matter what I do to it. Of course if I move the buttons and it doesn't work, I'd move them back before returning it!

Manidipa, the back view is unbuttoned. I think I'm slouching there, plus it's a little wrinkly from the box. Just checked again and it does not appear to do that IRL.

Kelly, I think you're right that the petite will be too short overall although the buttons might be higher. Plus I wouldn't want the sleeves to be any shorter than they are here (always a problem with me and petite sizes). In any case, I'd rather have this color so I think I'm not going to order the petite.

I'm keeping the second one for sure. In fact I might wear it today!

Call me crazy, but I love both! The fit and shape of each are unique and look funky. I'd say #2 is a little snug, but that's the intention of it, right? Open, it doesn't look as tight. Very cute pieces!

I really like the denim one the turquoise is a lovely colour, but definitely a wee bit droopy.

Diana, in the second photo, with the back view, do you have the blazer unbuttoned or buttoned? If it's bunching on the back while buttoned, I'd say it would be a poor idea unless layering under it --- which of course defeats the purpose of a *light* blazer. That colour IS gorgeous on you, though. I wonder if side-seam alterations may be possible, as well as moving the buttons. Of course if that's the unbuttoned view, I'd definitely keep it, move the buttons and wear the heck out of that glorious turquoise that is perfect on you!

The second cropped blazer is cute! Keep it and wear it either way, I say.

Ooh, I love the blue blazer! What a gorgeous color! I hope I didn't mislead you on the fabrication--it is very thin but I looked at that as a positive. It looks great on you and really highlights your hourglass figure! I like the cheeky denim blazer too--very cute!

I'm not sure about the petite blazer. The length of this one looks perfect on you. Might be worth a try though--it could be cut smaller through the shoulders.

Ditto to Claire's comment!

Hm, interesting idea to move the buttons on the NZ. I'm not convinced, as I would think that resolving the pulling would just make the bust droopage worse. Would moving the buttons render this one unreturnable?

Thanks so much for all your opinions! I'm leaning toward keeping both now although I think I may do some alterations on the Nic+Zoe. It does sound like most of you prefer the esprit one unbuttoned, which is also my preference.

Claire, I think you're absolutely right about my shoulders looking better w/ more structure. This blazer looks amazing on Kelly's shoulders but I have to remember that she has a way stronger shoulder line than I do! I am actually considering sewing in some tiny shoulder pads... will have to go to the craft store and see what they have.

Makrame, I thought about sizing down but I think the arms would be too tight then... I often have to size up in blazers actually because they tend to be tight over my biceps. I agree with you that it will be great for summer, unlike most of my other blazers which will definitely be too hot.

Angie, good idea to move the buttons! I have done it on some of my coats (usually on the bottom button which hits around the hip) and it has totally fixed the pulling issue, so I have high hopes here too.

Love the turquoise blazer! It's pulling a little so perhaps adjust the button positioning. Gorgeous with the red!

Like the Esprit blazer too - but would have loved to have seen a size up. Not too bad though, and certainly wearable and nice.

I like the Nic & Zoe blazer buttoned. A lot! It's a 10 buttoned. But unbuttoned, I don't care for it. Buttoning it gives it structure, while it looks shapeless unbuttoned. So if you will wear it buttoned keep it!

The denim blazer is a good basic. Buttoned or unbuttoned. It will look cute with a lower contrast top for work.

I love the color of the Nick and Zoe blazer on you and think it is quite flattering. The vertical seaming on the back is a nice touch. It could use a bit of structure but I still think it is a keeper. Try it over a simple white or black/white striped t-shirt and let it shine.

I had the same concern regarding the Nick and Zoe blazer (I bought it in red) but I really like the fact that is thin and lightweight, perfect for the summer. I started out with size small, which was a pretty good fit, but decided to order the next size up to see if it would fit better. The medium was very droopy. So I wonder if you might do better in one size down? Just a thought.

I think Express jacket worn open looks good.

I love the color of the Nic + Zoe blazer on you, but I'm not loving the thin droopy fabric. I think your shoulders look better with more structure. (It really highlights your fantastic waist, though!) I prefer the denim blazer on you. The cropped cut is super cute and I really like the difference in length between the sleeves and the body for some reason (does that make sense?). I would wear it unbuttoned, though. Even if it has stretch, it *looks* really tight closed. Terrific purchase!

Here are a couple of blazers that I've recently acquired that I'm unsure of... not styled at all, I'm mostly just wondering about fit here. Please forgive the leggings that think they're pants!

1-3: This is the Nic + Zoe knit blazer that Kellygirl has in red. I'm not sure I love the lack of structure in the shoulders/arms and I think the stance may be a little low for me? The fabric is thinner/floppier than I expected.

4-5: This is an Esprit dark denim blazer. It's not returnable (purchased on impulse at the store closing sale in NYC) but I could consign/ebay if you guys hate it. It has some stretch and is very comfy, but does it look too tight?
