denise...right again on the proportions. i think i need a heel to lengthen the leg line. will try styling the jacket tomorrow before i make a final decision. i've been buying and returning lately and nothing seems to hit the sweet spot.

Like the jacket. How does it feel through the shoulders?

i don't think either pair of jeans is good enough for you. You'll find the right ones, but I don't think these are them.

The jacket looks good, but I think you could do better with than those BF jeans. I think they would look better with a little more distressing/faded, the legs tapered in slightly and rolled up more.

I also feel the rise is too high on the bf jeans. But if you are looking for a high rise straight legged jean, the smaller pair work nicely. The jacket is sharp but it looks a little long in front. However if you wore it with lighter colored bottoms it would still work. With dark bottoms, the length throws off your overall proportions IMO.

I like the asymetriccal hems on the jacket, esp. the sleeves but I can't tell if the rear vent is pulling or it is made to lay in an open V (does that make sense?) I think the front would look fine once adjusting for your raised shoulder. I like #1 more than #2 for the jeans, but as others have said if it doesnt feel like you, pass it up.
Is that the HELMUT jacket I've had my eye on? I like it but I don't love it - I wish it were slightly shorter. Now I'm wondering whether I'm too short for this jacket (I'm 5 4, I think we're the same height?)

The jacket reminds me of the Theory Lanai blazer I have. I don't like the button for some reason. Have you tried the Theory?

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/th.....ualcategor

You don't sound like you want to OWN the BF look...
What is the rise on these jeans? It seems too high to me in either size. You don't have to go for low rise but maybe lower rise than these. At least I would try a lower rise as I think it would suit you better. I'm not sure on the jacket size - it seems a bit uneven so maybe it is pulling?

I'd actually like to see a size larger on the jeans! I think #2 is too tight for a BF effect, and #1 could use more bagginess. But I like baggy :)

The jacket, does it feel tight around the shoulders?
