Shiny, I returned the OM jacket today. I should be getting the Gap navy piped jacket in petite next week so will definitely compare the two. Unfortunately, petite is all sold out online except for the light gray with green piping in big sizes.

Sent the blue one off to the tailor's today to get the arms shortened, so it's a keep! Unfortunately, that one was not available in petite sizing. I'm so excited about my first colored blazer!

I would really love to see you in a petite blazer to judge which is the better fit for you. Hard to say here. Petites will be shorter not just in the sleeve length, but in the torso as well. It'll be scaled down all over, even the lapels. Devil is in the details! I cannot wear a regular blazer at all -- has to be petite!

The second gray one to my eye almost looks like a not-quite-boyfriend jacket. I think that's simply because it's a regular and not a petite.

Let's see the Gap blazer in petite and compare! The good thing about that is once you know your size and petite vs regular, gap is pretty consistent and then you can try blazers from BR and Old Navy too.

Thank you so much for the replies! It's amazing what a rolled and/or scrunched sleeve can do for a look. Another detail I have learned here I am going to return the OM jacket. I really don't need two. Will think about the gray gap one, but will definitely keep the blue. Thanks :)

Harmonica, that's too bad about no petite sizing where you live

Zap, do you think I look curvy? I thought my body type was much more rectangle shaped because I have very little difference from my waist to my hips (unless I'm measuring wrong).

I would return the piped blazer, because of the sleeve length primarily. I personally liked the second grey blazer on you quite a lot. The cobalt blue one is great, and it looks like it would be relatively easy to shorten the sleeves. And the outfit you actually wore made me smile. I loved the two pinks together.

The gray from Gap looks about 100 times better with the sleeves rolled up. Initially I was going to give it a nay, but now it's a yay! (and so is the blue)

Here is the thing with the grey blazer. I buy that type of blazer i.e. slightly boxy, cropped, one or two button stance, to look good open. I think you need to go down a size and judge on how it looks open. It is highly unlikely, in my opinion, that the waist fit is going to look perfect on curvy bodies like ours, because the jacket is cut boxy. I would still buy it, but it needs to be worn open. I never close my blazers anyway.

Amongst the colored blazers, I like the cobalt blue.

The blue one is a clear winner in my eye. The grey academy one is ok if you roll the sleeves up, I think it looks fun like that. The grey Moon one is a distant third.

I like the cardi and blouse together!

Another vote for the blue one! I like how you think about pairing it with neutrals. That's what I do with my new Zara blazer... a pop of colour = fun and high score on the happy scale :-)

In the first pics, the grey ones look both a tad too wide in the shoulder area, but I like he grey with piping better in the pic's you added.

Yes, shorten the sleeves (I always have to do that, too. And no petite sizes in Scandinavia)

I like the blue too.

I think the grey Gap blazer has potential, it's just the sleeves that are too long, since it looks great in the second set of photos! I think the stance of the Olivia Moon is too low, plus the sleeves look too roomy as well.

But if you are going to keep just one, I vote for the blue, especially since you mentioned that you find blazers a bit stuffy. I definitely think that my colored blazers are easier to wear because they look less corporate and more fun.

Thanks for your input Suz, Shevia, AG, and QM!

AG, you crack me up!

I added some pics of the Gap sleeves rolled for comparison (first two) and the OM more scrunched (since its a ruched sleeve).

Suz, I think I can pair the blue blazer with a lot of my neutral tops for my "pop of color." I went out to look for the red originally but it wasn't available in the store. I have many, *many* colored cardigans, and I thought I could swap out a colored blazer for a more structured look. I am not a blazer person generally, and I feel a little "stuffy" in blazers. However,I love the look on others and I'm trying them out.

Of these, I really like the bright blue blazer on you! You're right about the sleeves; in addition to being a bit long they also look wide, but when you roll or scrunch them the effect is great! And what a fantastic colour.

How would you wear it? What do you have that would work with it? Can you see it in several outfits?

As for the grey ones, it is tougher for me to tell. The stance of the first one seems a bit high to me, and the stance of the second one perhaps a bit low. Or maybe that isn't the issue, but something doesn't seem quite right. It may be that the sleeves are messing up my judgement, though.

Love the pink of the sweater!

I got lured in by the friends and family sale at Gap and decided to try out the piped academy blazer. I got the Olivia Moon ruched sleeve blazer during NAS. I am not much of a blazer gal, and I don't think I need two gray blazers. I also picked up the blue blazer.

1-2. Gray blazer with black piping blazer
This is a regular size and not the petite so the sleeves are clearly too long. I did order the navy blue in petite. I can roll or scrunch the sleeves, but I'm not sure if I can alter due to the piping. I do like that this is fully lined and the material is nice.

3-4. Olivia Moon gray blazer
The sleeves on this are ruched. It's a more relaxed fit than the Gap one. It is only partially lined and the material is a little bit flimsier than the Gap one.

5-6. Blue academy blazer
I had to size down from my usual size in this one although it is very similar to the gray one. Also not a petite (doesn't look like it comes in petite sizing online either) so sleeves are too long.

7. Just throwing in what I actually wore today. As I've mentioned before, I'm trying to put more color in my neutral heavy wardrobe. The red belt and pink cardigan are a big departure for me. I thought about wearing red shoes, but felt like it was too much. The pink cardigan might be too much too. Sorry about the rumpled look. End of the day, and I was apparently too tired to straighten my shirt.

What do you ladies think about the blazers? Any of them keepers? Thanks in advance
