I am in the middle east museum gal. Our winters are 15 C - 25 C! Its winter now and gals are already rocking the tall boots! I will get a lot of wear from these kind of shoes, more than the boots. But I need boots to make my outfits look fresher. I don't own any boots now. But comfort is the key, and I think these shoes would slip off my heel after a few wears even though I have sized down.

They are cute for sure, but I wonder how much use you will get out of them this season (assuming you are in the northern hemisphere and experiencing winter?).

Thanks Ornella. I did buy them as MOTG walking shoes. I now think they are pricey and you are right about the absence of straps and walking comfort. My regular size was slipping off my feet. So I sized down. Don't think that's a good idea?! I guess I'll return and buy something better.

I think they are pretty and would work great for your style. I don't know if you walk a lot and if the fact there is no strap would make them suitable for walking, but that is minor of the two issues.

I have budget concerns though.

Boots take a lot of strain because of the conditions they are worn in. I would rather invest in spare pare of boots, because those are the lifestyle conditions that need to be taken care of.

ETA: Plus, good boots are hard to come across in my experience and I think they are best bought when you come across the right pair, rather than when you need them. Needing something ends up with a lot of frustration when searching and maybe even unwanted compromise. I would not want to compromise on boots.

I typed an entire post and it just disappeared. Grrrr....I now know how Una feels! o_O

So I fell for these today (though it was not in my wishlist):

http://www.stevemadden.com/Ite.....np=157_363

They are comfy, cute and fill my wardrobe hole of dressy flats. But is it worth the full price I paid (that pair is not on sale here )? The high vamp makes me a bit doubtful about its versatility. Would they work well with dresses and skirts too?

If I buy this pair I will have to make do with one pair of boots because I do not wish to overshoot my budget. K/R?
