The former. Do a small roll up on these - 29L - for a full length effect that is not too heavy. Get the regular length 29 if you want to sport the look in #8. Hope that makes sense. xo

You ladies are the best. Thanks for all the time analyzing my purchases and the good advice!

Joy and BJ -- I was glad you noticed and liked the hoodie under the jacket. It is a look I've been wanting to try out for awhile and I think it will be a go to for me this winter--- I'm going to try it with my jean jacket, as well.

Diana-- I'm glad that the fit on the jeans is similar to your KUTs, helps me know I'm on the right track.

AG-- I hear you with the IT thing-- I seem to be right in between, don't get the "I'm a human clothes hanger" effect like true ITs, but definitely can get into the boxy or wide territory if something hangs wrong. I will have to think about the vest-- I can see it and it would look awesome, but my meds mean my extremities vasoconstrict, so my arms are always much colder than my torso, which might make that futile (3/4 is ok, since I usually have to push sleeves up at work frequently).

Jeanie and Gigi-- good idea about the Cuddl Duds, I think that would have to be a trial and error thing, but would be worth trying.
Gigi-- good point with the "just flattering enough" comment!

Style fan -- sometimes it is nice to hear that others envy a body part that you occasionally fight with! Usually I don't mind the shoulders (although it can make fitting tailored woven tops rough) but back in school during formal season it was awful--- most styles catering to teens and the college set ARE NOT IT friendly!

Janet-- you make a good point about the wide neckline being hard to wear and breaking it up -- I wonder if I could do that with the thick zipper or if it would interfere with scarves and pendants? The knit on this top is gorgeous, and I love that it has hardware that is placed in a place I could wear it to work. I think I will ask the SO for his opinion . . . . he is usually my tie breaker on these things.

Aubergine -- thanks! I couldn't decide if it was dramatic enough or if it would read as lumpy, boxy, etc. I do have great jewelry to wear with the black. Looking at Janet's thread I think the b&w might be too busy on me.

Suz-- great to see you chime in. I'm glad you like the wrap, and I definitely see a jacket working with it. I might have to look a bit more on Nordies . . . I think the jeans are a pretty nice fit. It will be interesting for me because it has been awhile since I've had different bottom shillouttes-- it definitely is going to make fashion more fun, but also might make dressing and the packing and laundry thing more complex!

Angie, great to see you post -- I know this is a busy and exciting week for you. Thanks for the belated birthday wishes-- I am September 2nd. September birthdays are great. I am a bit confused about the jeans. So, are you saying I need to take the pair pictured (those are a 33.5 inseam, so full length) and do a very small roll/flip up of the bottom, or are you suggesting I order a 29XL to be able to do a cuff or roll like the bigger jeans from the other thread?

Woho, pics from Elli :)
I love both tops, can't see anything wrong with the shoulder line, but, like Janet, maybe I don't see anything wrong because I have big hips and tend to emphasize my shoulders to balance it out.
I would wear something underneath the draped blouse for warmth if needed.

And ,I like your jeans but prefer it unrolled.

Elly, you are very pretty. Fab to see you post again. And happy belated b-day. I think you are in Sept too.

LOVE both tops. They are 10s.

The jeans are fab, but the rolls are too heavy and the length too short. Try rolling them smaller and FULL length like you originally intended. You would need regular length straight leg jeans to create the right volume of roll at the shorter length. Hope that makes sense.

These are all fantastic additions, Elly! Wow.

Definitely keep the wrap top and maybe get another one! Yes, it will be too warm for summer (you can go for the sleeveless version then). But it will work with a tank or cami under it for winter and a jacket over it. And it will be versatile. It's extremely flattering to your shape and I am jealous because I'd love to wear one and can't. :)

The jeans are just brilliant on you. They don't read "BF" exactly because they're not slouchy and loose, but they do read "super flattering denim." I'd go with that and roll them up for a cousin-of-a-BF look -- I do this sometimes with my skinnies and looser skinnies. And it works.

I like the sweatshirt, too, but I am not against a strong shoulder line. So really, it's up to you. You could probably find a style that did not emphasize that to such a degree if you feel it is an issue.

I like it all!

To me, the sweatshirt emphasizes your shoulder line just enough to look a little dramatic, which seems like a good thing. It also seems like something made out of sweatshirt material, but in a slightly dressier shape like this, could be really versatile.

The patterned version of the wrap top is really nice-looking too, but I could see the solid black one being especially useful for you. Didn't you say somewhere that you have lots of interesting jewelry? It seems like the solid one could really be a good backdrop for different jewelry and would let you change things up there for a lot of very distinctive looks.

All look great, especially the jeans and the wrap top. The sweatshirt top is less conventionally flattering, but still nice. I don't mind a strong shoulder line (I emphasize mine unabashedly but I have bigger hips to balance out), but sometimes I think those wide necklines are just plain harder to wear. Sometimes I will try to soften that horizontal line with a pendant or scarf.

First of all, the wrap top looks unbelievably gorgeous on you! That's such a winner. I don't know how well some kind of undershirt would work with it, though...the neckline is cut pretty deep. I do have Cuddl Duds that are cut quite deep, but it seems to me that as you move around, the undershirt might peek out. Maybe a cami that has a V-neck and has adjustable straps, so that you could make the V as deep as you want? Although that would leave your arms without an additional layer of insulation...

I like the jeans too, although like you say, they are not the typical boyfriend look. I think they are a bit of a cross between a skinny and a boyfriend. But I like them. :)

The zipper top I would probably put into the category of just flattering enough. It does emphasize a strong shoulder line, but not everyone has traditional tastes in fashion. So I agree with the others here: if you don't mind the emphasis on your shoulder line, the fit looks good, and the style is interesting, so I would keep.

It all looks great. The fit of the jeans is marvelous. I am with the others on the sweatshirt. I like it but if you don't like the strong shoulder line then pass. I think you could wear cuddle duds under the blouse and a moto over top to get more winter wear out of it.

My instant reaction to the sweatshirt was a no because of the way the neckline emphasizes the shoulders (which is always my struggle). But some people aim for that strong-shouldered look, so that's up to you. The fit is good.

Love the wrap blouse and the jeans. The sweatshirt is nice but it does emphasize your strong shoulder line a lot. That's not a bad thing, it just depends on how IT you want to look.

My Kut Catherines fit a lot like these jeans do on you (only mine are sadly not full length). I think they work as a slim boyfriend type of cut.

Hey ladies!

I got my second Nordies order in and my second Gap order and thought I would show the clothing off and ask for some advice.

The two black tops (zip sweatshirt and draped blouse) are from nordies. Is the zip sweatshirt flattering enough on my shape?

The draped top is great (I believe it has been an angie pick). It would be very easy to dress up for a gallery opening as well. That said, I'm questioning how it would wear into winter since it is just poly crepe. It is slightly too warm for summer, but may prove me wrong. Would you wear a 3/4 v neck layering piece underneath? Should I try a pattern instead?

The next couple shots are of jeans. These are the Gap Straights in a size 29L, as Angie requested. See the other thread with the next two sizes up here. I like how they look, but am not sure they are a BF or slouchy skinny look. http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-requested

The final shots have the same jeans, but with bonus new charcoal sweatshirt under my leather jacket (as I hope to wear it).

What do you think? Keep or Return?
