If the ribbon doesn't clip off neatly, you could probably find a nice metal clasp at a sewing store. </p> <p>The booties are awesome! I'd hesitate to remove the ribbon ties, they seem integral to its style. However, I think it could do with nipping in at the waist; judging from the back view it looks too roomy for you at the waist. I usually wear black canvas sneakers but they always get so dusty. I've been thinking some sort of comfy booties that could work with shorts, skirts, or skinnies would be nice to have for this annual event. The brand is Ariat. The leather is soft and the insole is comfy! I also like that it has a hint of cowgirl without being OTT.</p> <p>The thrift store wanted $30 for the jacket and $25 for the shoes. I had a 20% discount coupon for bringing in a bag of donations PLUS I still had the $12.50 credit for returning the red coat. So I got both items for $31.50 before tax! </p> <p>So what do you think?</p> <p>ETA: Added pic 5 as reference for what jacket might look like without the ribbon closure. </p>
