*waving back at all my pants buddies!*

Thank you, everyone!! I'm sorry it took me a while to get back to this thread. Today, I started a week-long couture sewing class, and it's been a busy day.

Thank you for the fit confirmation. I was leaning toward the smaller pair myself, so I'll return the other pair. And thank you also for all the great ideas and compliments. You are all the best! I feel much more confident about these, and I'm excited to wear them. I intend to wear them as soon as I get home, and will post a follow-up with my AL booties. Oh, and Parsley, I really like your sweater/top that peaks out from under your jacket - I intend to shamelessly copy that one for sure!

I like the smaller size better too, especially from the back. Have you tried untucking the top? Either that, or a very skin tight tank or T with outrageous high heels, LOL!

I prefer the smaller size and personally would stick with something fitted on top, adding footwear with an edge. The print on these pants seem ideal for pattern mixing, if that is a style you like. I vote heels, but that reflects a personal preference for sure. A fab heel would take this to a whole new level, IMO. You look awesome.

I vote the smaller size. They are PERFECT for your TX climate. I vote add your Anyi Lus for edge :)

You have an innate, fresh, natural polish that really makes your style shine brightly, Jamie. So beautiful!

Hey pants triplet! I have a pair, haven't even tried them on yet, got them in the mail a few days ago. It is so darn hot, over 100... one of these days I will try them on. I would be so lucky to look as good as you or Parsley in them. I like them in the smaller size on you.

Wow, love Parsley's outfit above!
Jamie, I prefer the fit of the smaller pant, unless you intend to untuck your tops, due to the looseness in the bum area.
Both look good from the front, but you get more length in the larger size for heel wearing if you wish.
Oh, I appear to be no help at all- I guess it depends on how you think you will be styling them!
Hopefully Angie will chime-in on this one for you.

Hey, pants twin! You look great in yours! Not dowdy or matronly in the least. Of course I vote keep!

I'm packing for a trip right now, and I'm taking almost exactly the same outfit. This picture is with a flat sandal- I prefer a chunkier wedge sandal with these pants, but these are better for walking.

I don't really have a strong preference between your two sizes. I'd go with what feels good to you.
Mine are on the baggier side. I thought about exchanging them for the next smaller size, but I kind of like them really slouchy.

I'll be eager to see how else you style yours!

Jamie: Thanks so much for posting this! I wondered what they'd look like IRL. I like your version far better than the one on the model.

I love the print, and I don't think you look matronly -- you have a crisp, modern look that will give you some protection from that, in any case.

I think I prefer the smaller size, although, if you like the lower rise, you could bring in the side seams a little on the larger pair.

I think you can treat the b/w like a neutral, and wear any color on top that pleases your fancy.

I'm surprising myself by liking the smaller size better, and I think the outfit in #1 looks fabulous. I like this style of pant worn on the hips, or just above the hips, rather than at the waist. So if that requires the larger size, so be it A heeled bootie would look great with these, or a wedged sandal, or flat loafers, or even a mid-calf boot. I don't think heels are a requirement with these for you, as the flats look pretty great in #1.

I can certainly manage a heel, and I have a few I will try, but I was hoping a flat would work too. In fact, I bought the Anyi Lu peep toe bootie in grey. I wonder if those would work. As for the size, I'm torn. I agree that the larger size is more slouchy, and I think that's how they are supposed to be worn, but in that pair the seat is big and roomy, and the crotch hangs down further. Not sure if that's ok. I want to look modern and chic in these and not have flashbacks to my grandmother in her pink polyester pants with an elasticized waist. I loved her dearly, but not the look I'm going for.

Love these on you Jamie and prefer the larger size for more slouch. They definitely need some type of heel (even a small one), boot or wedge. Love them with the denim jacket. A bright coloured blouse semi tucked or a hi-low sweater in a bright colour would look fab with these.

I think I like the size up for the slouchiness. And I am so (selfishly) glad you posted these, because I have them in my shopping cart and am considering. I suspect they would look best with some kind of heel or a wedge. Can you manage that? I like them with the denim jacket. Have you got a bright top, too, for a change?

Jamie re size, from the front and side both sizes look ok but from the back I think the larger size looks too big. I'm a little on the fence on these. I would like to see these with a more open shoe, so a sandal or a heeled, open toe sandal/bootie. I agree that these pants could easily look matronly with the wrong stylings but I feel the making or breaking of these pants will be in the shoes:)

In the spirit of trying new styles, here are the VC pants that Angie recommended. These are way out of my comfort zone, and I have this fear that somehow I'll end up looking dowdy and matronly in them, and I don't want that. So, should I keep these or not??

Assuming they are keepers, a few questions:
1. What size should I keep? (I have no idea what these are supposed to look like or how roomy or fitted they ought to be. I tried 2 sizes, and both fit well and are plenty roomy. Photos 1-3 are the smaller size, and photos 4-6 are the next size up. Where are you supposed to wear them? At the waist, or just below?)

2. The outfit in photo 1 is what Angie suggested. Does that work ok? What are some other styling ideas? These are a superb weight for my climate, but I don't know what else to do with them to avoid the dowdy/matronly path.

3. Besides flats, what other shoes? Low heels? Higher heels?

I'm uncertain about these. Thanks for your help and ideas!!
