First question they asked me was if I wear elegante Schuhe or sportliche Schuhe. They promised to make them as thin as possible. I have yet to see if they will fit in all my shoes, will get them next week. Regarding DD, my twin DDs (now 14) are usually fine with what I wear but sometimes I try something that seems different to them. My DD that "turned teenager" a bit earlier than her twin has learned to say I like it for you but I wouldn't wear it. The other one is just coming around the bend with accepting me looking "different".
