Hmm. Thanks, everyone. Unfortunately, this was bought secondhand so there's no chance of finding a larger size, which would be too big around anyway; it's wear or return. I suspect that it would look a lot better styled as I mean to wear it, and with my face and hair actually done (ugh, I think I'm going to delete those photos...)

It's frustrating, because basically there's no way that I can ever buy a RTW top with this detail with the seam in the right place. It has literally never happened in my adult lifetime. I would have to make my own or try to find a line that has a tall version and hope everything else wasn't too long, which again has never happened.

This makes me think about the whole PPP thing and "good enough". I get not compromising on things that are important, but where do you draw the line? It seems like it's a question of resource and energy allocation as much as anything else. I could spend all my time and money making sure my wardrobe was perfect but then I wouldn't have any energy or money to do anything else. A topic for another thread, I guess.

The empire seam would drive me nuts. It isn't noticeable from the photos but I would hold out for something that fit perfectly. Print and colors are nice.

Can you size up on this? I think it would hit you in a better place, both under the bust and at the bottom. These are great colors! But, umm, per YLF wisdom, when you say, "it looks OK enough" it really isn't because you DESERVE better!

I really like this top on you - I think you can wear it on its own, and it will play nicely with toppers too.

I didn't notice the seam issue - does it really bug you?

Also, I love the way there are TONS of colours that work together in this top - I can see it working with a ton of bottoms (red pencil skirt!)

Along with my seasonal capsules, I’m working on a travel capsule, with a casual/touristy angle and a business/work one. For me, business doesn’t mean suits necessarily, but smart/business casual options for writers’ conferences, meetings with other writers, agents, editors, etc., and social events related to same.

Anyway, I need a top or two for this and I bought a top from Twice recently that’s originally from Kenneth Cole New York. I really like the print and overall shape, and the nylon knit would be perfect for travel and long days. The only issue is that, like a lot of tops, the empire seam falls a little high on me, an inch or so above the bottom of my bra. I am posting pics to ask whether it’s noticeable, or it looks OK enough.
