I love the SE loafers, and the black oxfords look very nice. The booties look big around the leg, but that could be the angle of the photo.

Thistle, I understand your footwear struggles 100%.

May I suggest getting SE booties instead of loafers. They will be more comfortable and weather appropriate. Get loafers for Summer.

From what I can see, the black oxfords look great.

And I'm with the others requesting another angle on the booties.

Hang in there!

Honestly, the SEs would be worn with socks and long pants as well as skirts and tights. However, my pants are long enough that you can't really see the socks.

Shoes that don't permit socks really don't work for me in my current climate. Winter is the dominant season, and by the time I can go with bare feet in shoes, usually only three or so months a year, I really want to wear my sandals!

I will have to see if I can rustle up a few outfits and see if I can persuade DH to take some pics!

I agree with Atlantia on seeing pics with a wider view, especially on the booties. I think the first two look great. Question though: do you plan to wear the SEs with socks? I think these loafer style shoes tend to look best with a bare foot. The opaque black sock looks very stark and a bit bulky with the shoe, IMHO.

Right off, I'm going to be a pest and ask if you wouldn't terribly mind posting a few full body shots. Its helps me see what the shoe will really look like. :)
Other than that, initial thought is the cap toed oxford looks awesome!

So, I am in need of upgrading my shoe capsule pretty badly.

I have only a handful of pairs that I wear, so I have been donating a great deal of barely used shoes. As part of this, I have learned
1. If shoes are not comfortable, I will not wear them.
2. There are no such thing as "sitting" events for a mother of a toddler
3. If they require too much maintenance, I will not wear them.
4. If they are difficult to get on, I will not wear them.

Pics 1-3 are the Sam Edelman Alvin shoes in Snow Leopard that Angie recommended. I wear a size 9 in shoes and have relatively narrow feet. These are still a bit snug, but I think they will mold to my feet and be super comfortable after a few wears. These are the first pair of print/patterned shoes that have ever made their way into my house, so I am a bit nervous. The bottoms are a bit slippery.

Pics 4-6 Pair of Rockport Walkability shoes. I am dipping my toe into the capped toe shoe arena. The shoe itself it suede with a leather toe cap. I have heard really good things about the comfort factor of this brand. I just want to make sure the style lives up to it.

Pics 7-10 Pair of Tayrn Rose ankle boots. I missed out on the Stuart Weitzman ones, and bought these as a substitue. They are almost identical in looks, except for the shape of the side goring. They are like my last pair of Tayrn Roses - sorta comfortable but will be really comfortable after a wear or two. The leather on these is so nice! I have tried to get some pics around the ankle. So embarressed admission: I do not own a single pair of ankle boots. These would be my first. As such, I am not really sure how boots should fit around the ankle.

Comments and critques welcome! If something looks bad, please, please tell me. You will not hurt my feelings. I would rather send them back than keep something less than flattering.
