Thanks Thistle! You're right. I was going back and forth on it, but I just can't get over the length. I just don't love it. And it wasn't cheap! I'm going to return them.

I would return it and see what can be found with a little more length to it.

Jackets are something you wear a lot, and something you really show to the fall/winter world more than the outfits underneath in some cases.

I recommend waiting to find something you feel fabulous in!

Suz, it's really difficult, I have to agree. And coats are a very important part of my wardrobe when you look at my climate! Though you're right, it looks good and it's in navy. Although it's darker than I thought it would be. Maybe I'm too critical?

Thanks JAileen. I agree, if I'm not really loving it 100% it probably won't get worn that much. Your jacket looks nice, but too sporty for me. I actually have a jacket (even two) like this too, but it's too 'gear' for my everyday style.

ETA
It actually has side entry pockets at exactly the right place for my hands and the draw string waist is at my natural waist. Maybe I should keep it.

It's such a cute jacket and looks cute on you too. But if you have misgivings about it, you probably won't wear it as much as you'd like. I bought a similar jacket for fall:

http://www.woolrich.com/woolri.....38;icSort=

It's sleeves are long too, but has velcro to cinch it up, and I like its sporty look and functionality. I got it at Sierra Trading Post for considerably less than from Woolrich.

Ah, Astrid. Coats are the bane of your existence, aren't they.

I actually think this looks good on you, though. And it's in one of your colours!

But if it's not going to feel right, send it back!

Thanks Sara. I think the sleeve alteration would cost a bit more because of the lining and the sleeve buttons, but I agree that it could be fixed. I'm not sure I could get used to the length, now that I've seen it it bothers me.

Thanks Glory. The sweater I'm wearing in the pictures is similar to the things I would wear under it in fall. I didn't layer my thick jumper under it, but it would have been possible in the bigger size.

I really like this on you. I think it could be a great run around jacket and feel the length is good. Have you tried it with layering under?

The jacket is cute and the sleeve length could be fixed, but if the length is going to bug you, I would send it back. I'm sure there's something out there that you would feel better in.

I ordered this navy parka in hope to wear it with jeans in fall. It's a really nice cotton with a flannel lining, quite cozy. Unfortunately it ends directly on my widest part (I should have known). The sleeves are too long too. I'm thinking return - what do you think?

#1-5
Smaller size. Better in the schoulders but too tight in the hips.
#6-8
One size up. Would definitely be better for layering, but the sleeves are too long and the length bugs me. Also with the faux fur collar, although I would never ever wear a jacket that has one. The feeling of this thing against my skin gives me the creeps.
