I think the cardis look fine and go well with your jeans. I especially like #4 with the graphic tee under the cardigan - it has that cool, effortless look that I love.

Maybe I'll post some pictures when I'm back, Inge.

Thanks Sarah! You're right.

Thanks Beth Ann! I like the way these fit much better than the fit of one of my older cardis.

Thanks, Astrid! I'm trying to find new approaches to casual dressing, and these looser, easier cardis are just the ticket!

You look amazing in the jeans, too! Keep it all and enjoy Milan!

I think these are good purchases. A girl needs to have the right basics to make the rest of her things work. Really love #2 and #3 styling here as well

I've no doubt it will be fantastic, Astrid. Milan and Florence are definitely on my "to visit" list!

Thanks Inge! You're right, it will be much more stress-free to go shopping for other pieces when I'm able to take my time. I'm so looking forward to the trip, the one to Florence was fantastic and I think this will be just as amazing.

I especially like the grey cardi, Astrid, and I think both colours will work well in your wardrobe. So I vote keep too: you're right that with only a few days left before your trip (you are going to Milan, wow!-) this not the time to go looking for statement pieces. You can always do that, more leisurely, when you get back.

Love your new jeans too, they look great!

Have a fantastic trip!

Thanks Suz! I'm going to keep them. You're right, the will be great layering pieces.

Thanks Thistle! They're QS by s.Oliver, I think that's a German brand. Good luck with your jeans hunt!

Thanks Angie! I never thought about doing a semi-tuck with a cardi, but it really elevates the look.

I agree with Suz. Tehse are all nice layering pieces, and warmth is so critical! Love your new jeans. What brand are they, if I might ask? I am hunting for some new jeans myself

Thanks Glory. That was the plan, layering different tops under. I just don't have that many tops with long sleeves that I can wear on their own that look right with jeans.

I vote keep. I was just away for 5 days and at the last minute threw in an old grey cardigan. Well I ended up wearing it 3 days with different tops under. Enjoy your trip

Thanks Parsley. You're right, not everything needs to be statement. I do think these will rescue my travel wardrobe, I just felt they were a bit boring.

I thought about what to pack for my six day trip to Milan beginning on Sunday and I panicked a bit. I wanted to only take jeans and no skirts and I just don't have enough tops to go with pants for this weather we are still having. I'm down to one cardigan that goes well with pants (the green one) and am wearing my sweaters that are perfect skirt length with my jeans...

That's the reason I bought two basic cardigans today, even though I said a while ago that I wanted to look for more special pieces from then on. I just don't think I'll find those elusive tops until sunday for little money...

I know that these are a bit baggy, but it seems they're cut that way now. They're a size small. What do you think, should I keep both? Only one? Return both? Help!

(And I'm wearing the new jeans. I don't want to take them off, I love them already. They bagged out a bit with wear, but I think it's a stylish kind of bagginess.)
