I should probably know better by now too - any time I end up debating over a piece of clothing at all, it's usually because there's some issue. I need to learn to listen to my instincts, I guess. If only doing that was as easy as it sounds...

Ok, looks like this one is a bust. Thanks for your comments all! I had actually liked the length of it, since all of my other blazers are short/cropped, but given the fit issues, it's going back in the bag for a return. I'll keep looking for a better version.

I think the body looks too long. I empathize with you on being a petite and finding cool jackets that fit well. :(

I love the concept of this blazer, but something about the blocking makes the material on the top half seem to poof out a bit, fit issues aside.

I find the colour block a little too horizontally cutting for your short height. Also, the blazer looks a little long - the cut line is too low. I vote return. Sorry to be a wet blanket. Onto something better.

Interested to see how it looks with the sleeves turned under - my first thought was also that it seems a bit big. I do like the colors on you.

Thanks all. I should have mentioned the arms. I'm petite and the arms are always long on me. I'd either scrunch or get them shortened a bit. I was more worried about the fit of the body.

April, since it was a clearance buy, sadly, this was the last one in any size.

Aubergine, blazers are such a pain! Especially when you're petite.

leopardluxe, I agree. I prefer it unbottoned too, and jeans and boots were pretty muh the plan when I bought it.

Suz, the shoulders feel pretty good to me. They're only lightly padded and sit where they are supposed to, and I can move about in easily.

I'll see if I can take another photo soon and cuff the sleeves under to give a better idea. Seems like a lot of you are edging toward too big though.

It's really tough to see the details in the photos, Dee. Definitely adjust the arms to the right length (just turn them under) to see how that looks. Examine the shoulder fit -- that is the first business. Does it strain or feel comfortable. Are the seams at your own shoulder? Once you figure that out, you can decide if it is worth trying another size.

It does look a little big to me but it may just be because the sleeves are a bit long. I think it's okay being a little oversized if you're planning to wear it open and more casually (e.g. over jeans with a nice boot). If so, I would have the sleeves shortened, though, so the slightly oversized fit looks intentional.

I think when it's buttoned it doesn't work because then it just feels like it's too big and you're wearing in a way that feels more "business/formal" to me by buttoning it.

I'm hardly the person to be giving advice on blazer fit, but I do think it might be a little big. Pretty, though!

It does look a little blocky, especially when open. Would it be possible to try a size down?

I think the arms are too long Dee, and it just might be too big - or maybe I am not not getting the fluid fit. I'll be interested in what others say.

I picked up this blazer on clearance at The Bay this weekend. I love the maroon and the faux-leather bottom really spoke to my desire to add a little more urban edge to my style.

Now, when I try it on, I can'd decide if it's a nice fluid fit or is just too big, especially in the chest. I'm more likely to wear it open than closed, if that makes a difference, but I've posted pictures both ways.

So, what would you vote?
