Shiny, it is a trick of the photo, fortunately. I would return it instantly if it really were uneven!

There is some detailing at the elbow that prevents the sleeves being shortened at the elbow or (I think) the shoulder ... I am still not sure what to do. I love the jacket and the sleeves don't feel too long when I'm wearing it, but they do look too long.

THey look better with the cuffs zipped but I would have to unzip them to take the jacket off - somehow having them zipped feels a little fussy to me.

What to do? I love the jacket but it is $$$ and I want it to be perfect!

I would wear the jacket for a few months and see how the sleeves look and feel then. The will scrunch up a bit at the elbow with wear.

If after a time you feel the sleeves are still too long, have the jacket altered by a professional who has a good reputation with leather. My mom taught me how to alter a sleeve with a zipper or other detailing at the cuff. You make your alterations at the shoulder. This requires removing and re-inserting the sleeve, but a good tailor will have no problem with that.

I love the jacket. You could also wear it *not quite all the way zipped* and then scrunch. I don't mind on leather jackets if the sleeves are a tad long.

I think what Shiny sees in #6 is the zipper not completely zipped to the top and the the unzipped flat is 'flapping' open ever so slightly. I think zipped fully it will be fine:)

I love the jacket CF. If looks to be a perfect fit on you, color is good and I can't comment on the sleeves. Fab all round.

It's a beautiful jacket and looks like a gorgeous and unusual neutral color. The sleeves look long, but not not too long in my opinion. The jacket fits you so well, it just looks like the sleeves are supposed to be long, like they are meant to be long enough for the jacket to be worn as outerwear if desired. Personally I like the look of them zipped, which you've noted that you don't like.

I am not an alterations expert, but I sew, and I think shortening the sleeves could be tricky, but not impossible. You can shorten a zipper by cutting it off, so theoretically the sleeves could be shortened. I'd ask a tailor how much it would be and weigh the cost with that of finding and buying a different jacket. It might be well worth it.

ETA: Another, easier way to shorten the sleeves is to take up the extra length above the top of the zipper--i.e., somewhere around the elbow. That would change the look of the sleeve substantially, adding a seam around its circumference of the sleeve, which you might or might not like. But it could be made to look consistent with the jacket design, with topstitching added to match what's done on the rest of the jacket. And it's not that unusual to see extra seams designed into leather clothing.

That's a fierce jacket. Yeah, unzipped the sleeves are long, and I'd be concerned about cost to alter because you'd have to replace the zippers. I have no idea what that would cost. You'd really have to love it, I am guessing.

I like it zipped. A lot. Makes your wrists so dainty. But yes I could see that if you want the ultimate perfect jacket you might want to wear it either unzipped or zipped.

Okay one more nit here, since we're being picky (right?): in pic 6, it seems that the zipper all the way up is uneven. This may be a trick of the photo. If it is that way in real life, then I say definitely pass. I don't know, maybe you'd rarely wear it zipped all the way (you do have the long elegant neck to do that). But that would bug me. Especially for an investment piece.

Both the jacket and the boots look great to me!
I think the sleeves are good as is. I prefer the sleeves to be a little long on a leather jacket.

The sleeves won't seem as long if you zip them. I guess the bottom line is: Do they bother you at their current length? It would be expensive and difficult to shorten them if you don't like them.

Hmm...that is one cool jacket, but I agree that the sleeves look a little long, especially in 4/5/6/7. I'm no expert, but it seems that between the leather and the zipper, it would be a tough alteration.

Should I keep the jacket? If so, do the sleeves need shortening? Can this kind of sleeve even be shortened?

#1 is with the sleeve zippers unzipped. #2 is with them zipped, which I don't like.

Nothing to say about the boots really.
