I sympathize! And even with exercise and disciplined eating nothing has changed for me.... My jeans are annoying the heck out of me.

I would keep looking - you look squeezed and don't deserve that! Plus a looser fit is more on trend and more forgiving of flaws (though you look impossibly trim to me!).

It's difficult to see in the pictures, and admittedly this could be my eye adjusting from skinnies/lower rise to trouser cuts/higher rise, and also just generally sensitive about recent weight gain/middle aged spread/stress eating/body blechness... and that top I am wearing in those photos is not helping....but I wanted everyone to see the jeans....

All that said, far as I can tell (and admittedly it may be quite a subtle difference nobody else can see), the back rise just seems longer & more roomy than is needed. I need the extra room in the front, not the back. The rear view in the 25's is perkier. The rear view in the 26s seems to say... middle aged, nothing can help her now, we're going south to visit the knees :-(

Regardless, I think my plan is to keep both the 25 and 26 BR's. And wear the 26s for now, see if it's just my eye that needs adjusting. They do look good with silk Legacy blouse tucked in. But keep the 25s because they aren't that far off AND I normally drop weight in the spring. It really wouldn't take much weight loss either. Which is what annoys me about jeans. They have no mercy. A couple of pounds makes a huge difference. And as I've mentioned, my weight (especially in midsection) is fluctuating madly lately. Half the month I'm one size, the other half a different size... which is why I started wearing dresses instead!!! So much more forgiving.

Ultimately I don't think either of these jeans are "it" -- but may keep the BR's as placeholders until I find the "it" jean. The 26's do fit the waist but I really think they are too loose everywhere else, especially since they are going to stretch out a lot (the 25's already did). My purpose here is not to have a saggy droopy rear-end boyfriend version of a trouser jean, ya know? I want a tailored look like I would have with tailored trousers.

I'm still waiting on the Paige's, which really should have been here by now. I am fearing they got lost in the mail. Then next week I'll be near National Jeans Company so I'll pop in there; I always seem to have the best luck (and service) there. So cross fingers.

I think you should try sizing up the Yoga jeans and see if you like them. Otherwise, I think you are still on The Hunt for the perfect jeans. Someone out there has a size that will be forgiving in the waist and fitted enough in the legs for your needs. It just never pays to buy jeans that are already too tight in the waist. They just never get better over time. Even if they never see the inside of a dryer or never touch hot water. Since you are ordering pants, for quite awhile Boden's pants/jeans were my absolute perfect fit. Lately I've needed a more forgiving waistband so NYDJ has filled my need.

I'd try sizing up the yoga jeans, if those are the ones you like the best. The BR 26s look great on you, but if you're not in love with them, I'd send the back.

Definitely try sizing up in the yoga jeans. Always worth a bash.

I much prefer the trouser jeans in the larger size - 26. The proportions look a lot better, and far more Modern/Current. I wouldn't worry about the bunching when you sit down. But your waistline needs to be comfy. So be sure about that.

Shiny, I think you should consider trying the yoga jeans in the next size up. You want to be comfortable in them - sitting or standing! And I'm not crazy about the fit of either BR pant, but it's kind of hard for me to see the details on my monitor. They look like they're snug in the hips, but loose in the legs.Do they need to be loose in both places to be fluid fit?
