Adorable jacket and perfect styling! However I have to side with those who feel the fit isn't spot on. The sleeves seem a bit long, and tight across the high upper arm. The lapel/proportion point made above is valid. Does the jacket button nicely? With this classic style, I think it should. Not to drive in more nails to the coffin, but really the only place it looks like it does fit is across the back shoulders. I'd like to see the bigger size for comparison. Can you try it for us?

Have you thought of this type, black tweed? http://www.orvis.com/store/product.aspx?pf_id=2X1H

So professorial! I am also concerned about the low elbow patches, but it seems to fit nicely otherwise.

Is this the schoolboy blazer? I saw it in JCrew and had to try it on it was so cute. I found it tight through the shoulders, but it is so cute.

Thanks for all of you input, ladies! I'm sorry I'm in a rush. I will walk around with different tops underneath and make sure there are no tight spots, and see where those elbow patches lie when I flex my arms, and report back!

Sarah, I know-I know: it's such a big work finding a perfect jacket! Sorry to be a mare, I think you can do much better, if that counts. As much as I can see form this only 3 picties, looks like the waist is a bit too high for your torso ON the FRONT(I don't know if that's the cut or just me, but the first button comes a bit too high for my like, so the neckline is too short and narrow for me and the lepel is somehow too small in proportion to the shoulder and bust line) + as Suz pointed out elbow patches also bit low. In the same time fit from the back (and sides) is impecable, included waistline much lower and flattering than seen on front-so am bit confused. Better see what Angie says!

The fit looks beautiful and I love how you styled it with those leopard flats. My only concern is the elbow patches. Do they look low? Is this a shrunken fit blazer? I don't think that's a deal breaker though--especially if you can't see them

I think you've combined some good elements--houndstooth, denim, patterns. But, I'm not feelin' the love for the jacket fit on you. Or maybe with it styled with the loose shirt and too buttoned up--so for starters, do try it on with different necklines. That helps me decide whether it's the fit of the garment itself or whether it calls for specific styling. I would try to fit you in the waist more. I do think the elbow patches are a distraction, but it's the fit that somehow seems like it could be better. Perhaps someone else can find the solution?

I like it, Sarah. My one concern would be those elbow patches. They look a bit low, but I might be mistaken about that. It could be an easy fix, depending. Personally I would want the sleeves a bit shorter, but I tend to prefer sleeves on my indoor jackets on the shorter side.

This blazer doesn't come in petite sizing, so I had to size down to a 2 to get the shoulders to fit (I am happiest in a 4P, given my narrow shoulders but not-insignificant bustline).

Does the fit look OK? shoulders? sleeves?

And what do you think of the style?

thanks, as always.
